Can a blood test detect bone cancer?

Bone cancer is a tumor of the bone and joint system. Generally speaking, bone and joint system tumors are divided into benign and malignant, but bone cancer is usually referred to as a malignant tumor. Malignant tumors can be primary or metastatic from other tumors, which are called metastatic tumors. So can a blood test detect bone cancer? Let's take a look at the detection method.

Clinical manifestations: The main clinical symptoms are pain in patients, which often results in severe sleep disturbance. In addition, most patients will experience obvious changes in appearance, such as local swelling and bulges. Some patients have severe limb deformities, and in severe cases, the patient's limb function is restricted, such as being unable to walk.

Examination methods: Currently, the main examination methods for bone cancer in hospitals are X-ray, which is currently the most valuable examination method and can determine the nature, size, and range of the tumor. There is also CT examination, but it is expensive and not as accurate as X-ray. Radionuclide examination can diagnose bone cancer at an early stage.

Treatment method: The most effective treatment for bone cancer is surgery, which can be performed by partial amputation or joint separation. This is a treatment method currently recognized by the medical community. However, some patients do not choose surgery, but use systemic chemotherapy or local chemotherapy, which has a relatively slow treatment effect and greater side effects.
