What should we pay attention to when caring for patients before and after surgery

The structure of the human body is very complex, and there are always some diseases. Some of these diseases can only be cured through surgery, but surgery will cause certain damage to the body. In order to allow the body to recover as soon as possible, special attention should be paid to the care of others before and after the operation, and certain methods and experience should be mastered. Let's understand what we need to pay attention to in the care of patients before and after surgery.

What should be paid attention to in the care of patients before and after surgery

Preoperative care

1. Psychological care: Nurses should explain in detail to patients and their families the precautions for surgery, possible complications, and postoperative recovery process. At the same time, we should do a good job of coordinating the family members so that the patients can receive treatment with peace of mind.

2 Tracheal and esophageal advancement training: In order to adapt to the needs of surgery, tracheal and esophageal traction training was started 35 days before surgery.

3. Daily care: Patients undergoing cervical spine surgery need to stay in bed and keep their neck immobilized. Before the operation, the patient must be trained to urinate and defecate in bed and eat liquid food in bed. At the same time, advise the patient not to eat too fast to avoid choking.

Postoperative Care

1. Keep the airway open because traction on the throat, trachea and other parts during surgery may cause breathing difficulties. After surgery, continuous low-flow oxygen inhalation and other auxiliary measures should be given. When doing traction exercises on the trachea and esophagus, use your fingers to pull the trachea and esophagus toward the sides of the surgical incision, and use the other hand to assist in pushing. During the traction process, attention should be paid to the fact that the trachea and esophagus pass through the midline. The traction time should be maintained at 1020 minutes per time. After repeated training, the patient can generally adapt to the surgery within 35 days.

2 Closely observe the patient's condition. Closely observe the patient's vital signs after the operation, and also pay attention to the recovery of sensation and movement in the limbs.

3 Incision observation and care: A drainage tube should be routinely left in the incision for 24-72 hours after surgery. The drainage tube should be kept unobstructed. Pay attention to the amount, color, and properties of the drainage fluid and keep records.

4 Strengthen functional exercise. The day after surgery, ask the patient to exercise limbs, hands and joints, but limit neck movement to keep the cervical spine stable.

The above is an introduction to what needs to be paid attention to in the care of patients before and after surgery. After understanding it, we know that some diseases are unavoidable, but we must maintain a calm mind when suffering from the disease. In addition, we must pay special attention after the disease is cured, maintain regular work and rest habits, pay attention to balanced nutrition in diet, and eat more light foods.
