The reason why there is blood in the saliva when you wake up in the morning

For a while, I had a very negative view of doctors because I often encountered doctors who would prescribe long-term medicine for you just for a common cold. It was obvious that they were buying medicine to make money. Later, I also encountered doctors who asked me what medicine I had at home, and some of them would not prescribe it. In short, doctors are good or bad. If you meet a good one, you are lucky, but if you meet a bad one, you have to accept it. After all, you are at the mercy of others and there is nothing you can do about it. Here we analyze the reasons why there is blood in the saliva when you wake up in the morning.

Periodontitis is a chronic inflammation of periodontal supporting tissues caused mainly by local factors. The age of onset is more common after 35 years old. If gingivitis is not treated in time, the inflammation can spread from the gums to the deeper layers of the periodontal membrane, alveolar bone and cementum and develop into periodontitis. Since there are often no obvious symptoms in the early stages, the disease is easily ignored. By the time symptoms appear, it is already quite serious and the teeth may no longer be saved. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen education so that patients can seek medical treatment early and receive timely treatment.

1. Plaque

The microorganisms adhering to the surface of teeth cannot be removed by rinsing the mouth or washing with water.

2. Tartar

Tartar refers to the mineralized plaque deposited on the tooth surface. It is divided into supragingival tartar and subgingival tartar according to its deposition site and nature.

(1) Supragingival tartar is located on the tooth surface above the gingival margin and can be seen directly with the naked eye. There are more deposits on the cervical part of the teeth, especially on the opposite side of the opening of the major salivary duct, such as the buccal side of the maxillary molars and the lingual side of the mandibular anterior teeth. The main source of inorganic salts in supragingival calculus is mineral salts such as calcium and phosphorus in saliva.

(2) Subgingival tartar is located below the gingival margin, on the root surface in the gingival pocket or periodontal pocket. It cannot be seen directly by the naked eye and must be detected with a probe to know its deposition location and amount. The main source of inorganic salts in subgingival calculus is gingival crevicular fluid.

The harm of tartar to periodontal tissue is mainly that it creates a good environment for plaque attachment and bacterial growth.

3. Traumatic occlusion

When biting, if the bite force is too large or the direction is abnormal, it exceeds the combined force that the periodontal tissue can withstand, causing damage to the periodontal tissue. This is called traumatic occlusion. Traumatic occlusion includes premature contact during occlusion, occlusal interference, and nocturnal bruxism.

4. Others

Factors including food impaction, poor restorations, and mouth breathing also contribute to inflammation of periodontal tissues.

The above is an analysis of the reasons why there is blood in your saliva in the morning. You may have periodontitis, so you should see a doctor. Nowadays, the conflict between doctors and patients is very serious. We often see patients' families making a scene in hospitals. This matter cannot be explained in a few words. The hospital has a big responsibility. Who would cause trouble for the hospital for no reason? If the hospital does not find out the reasons within itself, such things will happen again and again.
