Treatment of degenerative knee arthritis

Treatment of degenerative knee arthritis

I believe that most of our friends are very unfamiliar with degenerative knee arthritis in daily life and have never heard of the origin of this disease. The origin of this disease is mostly due to joint diseases. Common symptoms include redness, swelling and joint pain. So how do we treat degenerative arthritis? The following article will introduce it to you.

The goal of treatment is to relieve pain, improve joint mobility, increase joint stability, and slow the progression of the disease.

2. For patients with mild cases, they should get adequate rest, strengthen labor protection, reduce joint load, do appropriate physical exercise, and strengthen muscle strength training such as quadriceps function training at the knee and hip abduction and extensor muscle strength to prevent joint contracture and enhance joint stability. Physical therapy can relieve symptoms and delay the progression of the disease.

3. For patients with severe pain, common analgesics, anti-rheumatic drugs, local blockade, intra-articular drug injection (such as prednisone acetate 25 mg, once a week, 3-5 times as a limit, but avoid abuse) and flushing therapy have obvious short-term therapeutic effects.

4. Surgical treatment is suitable for those with severe pain, who have not responded to other treatment methods or who have deformities. The surgical method depends on the patient's age, occupation, location of the lesion and the extent of the damage. If there are loose bodies in the joint and osteophytes at the edge of the joint affect movement, joint cleaning surgery can be performed. If the joint deformity is obvious, osteotomy may be considered to change the weight-bearing alignment. If the joint surface is severely damaged, artificial joint replacement or arthrodesis may be required.

If you have degenerative knee arthritis, you must pay attention to your joint care. Don't forget to stay in a humid place for a long time. All of these will cause certain damage and harm to the joints. We should pay more attention to them in daily life and apply hot or cold compresses appropriately.
