Everyone's hearing is different. It has a lot to do with one's own auditory system and living environment. If we often live in a relatively quiet environment, our hearing will become very sensitive. For those who often live in a noisy environment, their hearing will become particularly poor. The hearing of the elderly will also gradually decline. So how many decibels is the normal hearing of a person? The normal hearing range of a person is between 0 and 25 decibels (dB). According to the hearing of ordinary people 0 -2 0 dB is very quiet and almost imperceptible; 20-40 decibels is quiet, like a whisper; 40-60 decibels is typical. Ordinary indoor conversation; 60-70 decibels is noisy and nerve-damaging; 70-90 decibels is very loud and can damage nerve cells. 90-100 decibels: increased noise and hearing loss; 100-120 decibels is unbearable and staying there for just one minute will cause temporary deafness. 120 decibels or above: extreme deafness or total deafness The normal human ear can hear sounds with frequencies ranging from 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz. The range of 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz is called the "audible range of the human ear." Hear sounds that contain a variety of frequencies. The entire "audible range of human ears" can be divided into 8 or 24 "frequency bands", called octaves or 1/3 octaves respectively. Sound or noise can have different intensities or sound pressure levels in different frequency bands. Sound is usually described as a sound pressure level value. The method is to add together the parts of all octaves or 1/3 octaves to get a sound pressure level. The sensitivity of the human ear to sound depends on the frequency of the sound. The human ear is most sensitive to sounds between 2500 Hz and 3000 Hz, and is less sensitive to lower frequency sounds. Therefore, adding together all the octave or 1/3 octave parts does not effectively reflect the nonlinear response of the human ear to sound frequencies. Taking the "A" weighted sound level scale as an example, the sound pressure level values of the low and high frequencies are reduced according to the formula before they are added together. The unit of the sound pressure level value is decibel (A). The decibel (A) scale is more commonly used because it more accurately reflects the human ear's response to frequency. Instruments that measure sound pressure levels usually come with a weighting network to provide a reading in decibels (A). In addition: decibel is the unit of volume. The larger the decibel number, the louder the sound. In decibel calculation, for every 10 decibel increase, the sound volume is approximately ten times the original. That is to say, the sound power of 20 decibels is ten times that of 10 decibels, the sound power of 30 decibels is ten times that of 20 decibels, and so on. If 10 sound sources emit a 10-decibel sound at the same time, then the power is 10 times that of 10 decibels, which is 20 decibels. |
