Anal fissures, repeated attacks, inflammation, and irritation from secretions can lead to sentinel hemorrhoids and anal papilloma. However, many people's sentinel piles appear as skin tags and are soft in texture. Papillomas are often tumor-like masses with thin frenulum. The tumor often protrudes out of the anus and most of them are isolated. Occasionally, two papillomas exist at the same time. They are grayish white, painless, tough and smooth.
