Find out 5 commonly ignored allergens in the home

When it comes to allergy prevention, many people think that allergens come from outdoors or public places. In fact, many things we often come into contact with in our daily life at home may become the source of allergies. We should handle them more carefully to truly reduce the chance of allergies and maintain the health of the body.

Here are some possible sources of allergies at home and how to deal with them:

1. Cushions, sofas and stuffed toys

Chair cushions, sofa covers, stuffed dolls or surfaces of toys may accumulate dust mites.

Solution: Tumble dry it for 10 to 15 minutes every week.

2. Shelves and items on them

Books, photo frames and souvenirs are most likely to grow mold, especially when it is humid.

Solution: Try not to place bookshelves or other shelves around the bed. You can also install glass doors on the shelves, which are not only dust-proof but also decorative. In addition, bedroom floors should be cleaned at least once a week.

3. Sleeping pillow

Regardless of the material of the pillow, the temperature and humidity of the human body will induce the breeding of dust mites.

Solution: Replace your pillow with a new one once a year, or regularly change your pillowcase to a hypoallergenic one; wash it with hot water 1 to 2 times a month (but pay attention to the material of the pillowcase). The material is high-density tightly woven fiber cloth, which is best for preventing the breeding of dust mites.

4. Bathroom mats

The humidity in the bathroom can easily make the bathroom mat a breeding ground for dust mites and mold.

Solution: Choose a washable mat and wash it once a week. After each shower, leave the windows open or turn on a fan to dry it off.

5. Gasket gap on the refrigerator door

When opening and closing the refrigerator, moisture, crumbs or accidentally spilled food may cause mold to grow in the gaps around the refrigerator door.

Solution: On average, once a week, use diluted bactericidal bleach or solution to thoroughly clean the gaps and grooves of the refrigerator with a sponge.
