Painful urination and low urine volume

Painful urination and low urine volume

Under normal circumstances, people will not experience any discomfort when urinating. However, if there is pain and swelling when urinating and accompanied by a decrease in urine volume, you must pay attention to it. If this situation suddenly occurs in the body, it is mostly caused by a disease and requires active examination and treatment. If not treated in time, it is easy to cause the condition to worsen. The following are the reasons for pain and swelling when urinating and a decrease in urine volume.

What causes painful urination and low urine output?

1. The patient has kidney disease, so the urine produced is relatively small, such as patients in shock or patients with abnormal renal function;

2. If the patient's total urine volume in 24 hours is not small, but the amount of urine each time is small, it should be considered that the frequent urination and urgency of urination may be caused by infection. It is recommended to go to the hospital for examination and treatment.

Urinary tract infection refers to a series of inflammatory reactions caused by the growth and reproduction of pathogenic microorganisms in the urinary tract. It mostly occurs in women of childbearing age and is a common infectious disease in women. In male patients, urinary tract infection can be caused by prostate hypertrophy, so it is more common in elderly patients. Male babies are also more susceptible to infection than female babies due to congenital urinary tract abnormalities.

What causes urinary tract infection?

1. Urinary tract obstruction If you suffer from prostate hyperplasia, tumors, stones and other diseases, which affect the free flow of urine, causing urine accumulation and bacterial reproduction, urinary tract infection is very likely to occur;

2. Vesicoureteral reflux or urine retention can cause bacteria to multiply locally, increasing the risk of urinary tract infection;

3. Due to their physiological structure, female patients have a significantly higher incidence rate than male patients. In addition, sexual intercourse can easily squeeze the bacteria around the urethra into the bladder. Weak ureteral motility and poor urine drainage during pregnancy are also risk factors for urinary tract infection.

4. Some iatrogenic factors, genetic factors, urinary system abnormalities, etc. are also susceptible factors for urinary tract infection.

The most effective way to prevent urinary tract infection is to drink more water, do not hold urine, and urinate frequently. Then you must keep the vulva clean, wear loose pants, and change underwear frequently to prevent bacterial growth; if you need to use urinary tract instruments, you must strictly follow the standards of aseptic operation; you should eat more foods rich in vitamin C to inhibit bacterial growth, and eat less spicy and irritating foods to avoid aggravating symptoms. In addition, urinary tract infections are prone to recurring, so you should pay more attention to them in your daily life and actively eliminate the risk factors related to their onset.
