Swollen finger joints

Swollen finger joints

When your fingers become swollen, does it seriously affect your life? Many people think that swollen fingers are nothing to worry about and are easy to be ignored. However, they do not know that the reason for swollen fingers is most likely the occurrence of rheumatic diseases. Swollen fingers will make you feel swollen and numb, which is very uncomfortable. No matter what you do, you will feel awkward, so you must pay attention to it.

Before treating swollen finger joints, you must find out the cause so that you can prescribe the right medicine. There are many reasons for swollen finger joints, the most common of which are rheumatoid arthritis, synovitis, etc. The following introduces the symptoms of these two inflammations. Let's learn about them together.

Swollen finger joints

Disease 1: Rheumatoid arthritis. Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disease. The initial symptoms are pain in the finger joints, or accompanied by redness, swelling and fever, and morning stiffness. Morning stiffness is the first symptom of joint pain and often appears before joint pain. Joint stiffness causes pain and discomfort when the joint begins to move, but morning stiffness decreases or disappears as joint movement increases. Morning joint stiffness is more obvious in the morning and eases in the afternoon. The swelling and pain in the finger joints are mostly symmetrical, often affecting the metacarpophalangeal joints, wrist joints, shoulder joints, interphalangeal joints, ankle joints and knee joints. The joints are red, swollen, hot, painful, and have difficulty moving.

Disease 2: Synovitis. Under normal circumstances, there is a delicate synovial membrane on the inner surface of the joint cavity, which can secrete synovial fluid to lubricate and protect the joints. When the synovium becomes inflamed, the joints become red, swollen, hot and painful due to the accumulation of inflammatory cells. When this inflammatory response is severe, it can even invade the entire joint, destroying cartilage and even bones. Without proper treatment, the joints will become deformed, stiff and unable to move. In the acute stage of synovitis, the finger joints will be painful and swollen.

To sum up, the cause of swollen fingers is unknown. What kind of inflammation do you have? No matter which one it is, the swollen fingers must be taken seriously and cured as soon as possible, otherwise it will cause more serious joint diseases. At that time, it will not only be a problem of swollen fingers. Nothing can compare to a healthy and strong body.
