Hepatitis B surface antigen

Hepatitis B surface antigen

Spicy food often causes indigestion in hepatitis B patients and weakens digestive function, so hepatitis B patients should stay away from spicy food; and hepatitis B patients must quit smoking, as many toxic substances in tobacco can cause the disease to worsen; and hepatitis B patients should not touch alcohol, as alcohol can damage liver cells. Hepatitis B surface antigen is the outer shell of the hepatitis B virus and is not contagious.

There are many hepatitis B patients in life, but the presence of hepatitis B surface antigen does not mean that you have hepatitis B. Hepatitis B surface antigen is the outer shell of the hepatitis B virus and is not contagious. However, carrying the hepatitis B surface antigen is often accompanied by the presence of the hepatitis B virus. Therefore, we should not let our guard down and must go to the hospital for check-ups at regular intervals.

Hepatitis B surface antigen positive patients can get married

HBsAg itself is not infectious and should not be considered a marker of infectiousness. But generally speaking, the presence of other markers of hepatitis B virus and HBsAg positivity indicates that the person is carrying or has hepatitis B virus replication in his blood. Therefore, people who are positive for hepatitis B surface antigen and their partners should check for hepatitis B virus markers before getting married. If the other party's blood surface antibody is positive, it means that the other party has immunity to the hepatitis B virus and is not easily infected again, so you can get married. If the other party's hepatitis B markers are all negative, it means that the other party has neither been infected with the hepatitis B virus nor has immunity, and is likely to be infected after marriage, so it is not advisable to get married for the time being. Hepatitis B vaccine should be injected according to the "0, 1, 6" schedule. It may be safer to wait for 6 months until the body has enough protective antibodies before getting married.

The outer shell of the hepatitis B virus contains the surface antigen, namely HBsAg (term: hepatitis B surface antigen), and the core part contains the core antigen, namely HBcAg, the e antigen, namely HBEAg (medical term: hepatitis B E antigen), and the hepatitis B virus deoxyribonucleic acid, namely HBV-DNA, and deoxyribonucleic acid polymerase, namely DNA-P. After a person is infected with the hepatitis B virus, a large amount of surface antigen often remains in the blood, forming surface antigenemia. The surface antigen itself is not a complete hepatitis B virus, but the outer shell of the hepatitis B virus. It is not contagious but is antigenic. It is just one of the signs of hepatitis B virus infection. It can mean past infection with the HBV or current infection with the HBV.

The 2008 edition of the "Guidelines for the Treatment of Chronic Hepatitis B" of the Asia-Pacific Association for the Study of the Liver points out that my country is a high-prevalence area for hepatitis B virus infection. The total number of hepatitis B surface antigen carriers has exceeded 100 million, of which more than 20 million are chronic hepatitis B patients, accounting for about 1.6% of the total population.

Most adults infected with hepatitis B virus will automatically turn negative: most adult infected people show symptoms of acute hepatitis B (within half a year of infection), and most (90%) acute infections will heal themselves, that is, the surface antigen positive will turn to negative within 3 months and surface antibodies will be produced. For the other 10%, if the immune function is poor, they cannot produce enough hepatitis B surface antibodies to neutralize the surface antigen, and the hepatitis B surface antigen in the serum may continue to be positive, that is, they will become chronic hepatitis B virus carriers. Therefore, it is recommended that adults with negative antibodies should also be vaccinated against hepatitis B.

Every year, 1-5% of chronic hepatitis B carriers can turn negative for surface antigen: the vast majority of chronic hepatitis B carriers are infected in childhood when their immune systems are immature, so their immune systems fail to recognize the virus and they become hepatitis B virus carriers. Most of the hepatitis B virus carriers are "big triple positive" when infected in childhood. At this time, the virus and the body are relatively stable due to the immune tolerance state and no disease will occur. As they age, the immunity gradually recovers and 50% can gradually turn into "small triple positive" (i.e. e antigen negative), of which 1% can completely eliminate the positive viral surface antigen and turn it into negative.

Good health is very important. People who carry hepatitis B surface antigen should stay away from tobacco and alcohol, avoid spicy food, and also be careful not to eat processed food, because preservatives are toxic to the liver. Although hepatitis B surface antigen is not contagious, you should also pay attention to it in daily life and avoid taking various antibiotics and hormones, as these drugs are harmful to the liver.
