How to protect your eyes:

The eyes are one of the most important organs in the human body. If they are not properly protected and become sick or injured, it will impair vision or even cause blindness, and will also affect work and study. As the saying goes, "hands and eyes are the key to success", this is the truth. Measures to protect your eyes vary as you age.

Fetal period: The eyes of the fetus are formed in the mother's body along with the gradual development of the whole body organs. To protect the fetus's eyes, we should mainly start from the pregnant women. In addition to preventing trauma and paying attention to nutrition, it is more important for pregnant women to prevent and treat infectious diseases in a timely manner, especially in the first 3 months of pregnancy. The most important thing is not to get rubella and a severe cold, because if these diseases are contracted during pregnancy, the child's eyes are often prone to serious diseases, such as congenital cataracts.

Infant period: From birth to 1 year old, do not wrap your child in strong light to prevent damage to his eyesight; do not let your child look at fixed objects to avoid strabismus.

Preschool period: Children aged 1 to 7 years old mainly play, so in order to protect their eyes, they must choose toys without blades and sharp corners; at the same time, parents and childcare workers should often educate children not to play dangerous games, read in sufficient light, but avoid strong sunlight, and keep a certain distance between eyes and objects (about 1 foot is appropriate); if there is strabismus, go to the hospital for correction in time; and cultivate good hygiene habits, do not rub your eyes with your fingers, and do not wipe your eyes with other people's towels.

School-age children: The main thing is to have the correct reading posture, keep the book at an appropriate distance from the eyes, and have sufficient lighting. Do not read while walking or riding in a car. Also, pay attention to the prevention and treatment of eye diseases.

Adulthood: In adults, all parts of the body have basically matured, including the eyes, so they have a stronger ability to adapt to various environments and conditions. To protect your eyes at this time, you should mainly pay attention to avoiding external injuries and abide by safe operating procedures in all kinds of work. At the same time, we should pay attention to the prevention and treatment of diseases. People with trachoma should actively seek treatment to prevent it from becoming a serious disease and causing trichiasis; people who have had iritis should take care to prevent colds to avoid continuous recurrences and the formation of cataracts.

Old age: The most common eye disease is glaucoma. This disease is very serious and sometimes breaks out suddenly, causing severe visual impairment and accompanied by symptoms such as headaches, nausea, vomiting, and vision as if in fog. If not treated properly, the patient may become completely blind. Sometimes the disease develops very slowly, beginning with the appearance of red circles in front of the eyes when the patient looks at lights at night, as well as headaches and other discomforts, and slowly the eyes will deteriorate. If older people experience the above symptoms, they should seek medical attention immediately.

Through the above introduction, we have some understanding of how to protect our eyes at different times, so we can follow the above methods. However, it should be noted that in the process of protecting our eyes, we must also pay attention to exercising our eyes every day and looking at more green things, which will be beneficial to the health of our eyes.
