Causes and prevention of cervical cancer

The main causes of cervical cancer include HPV infection, long-term immunosuppression, and bad living habits. Prevention can be achieved through HPV vaccination, regular screening, and improved lifestyle.

The occurrence of cervical cancer is related to many factors, among which HPV infection is the main cause. HPV virus is transmitted through sexual contact, especially high-risk HPV types such as type 16 and 18 are closely related to cervical cancer. Long-term immunosuppression is also an important factor. When the immune function is low, the virus is more likely to infect cervical cells and cause cancer. Bad living habits such as smoking and long-term oral contraceptives can also increase the risk of disease. Although family inheritance is not a direct cause, certain gene mutations may increase the probability of disease.

The key to preventing cervical cancer is to get vaccinated against HPV. There are currently three vaccines on the market: bivalent vaccine, quadrivalent vaccine and nine-valent vaccine, all of which can effectively prevent high-risk HPV infection. Regular screening is equally important. It is recommended that women over 21 years old undergo cervical cytology examination every 3 years, and women over 30 years old can combine HPV testing. Improving lifestyle can also reduce the risk. Quitting smoking, eating a balanced diet, and maintaining moderate exercise can help enhance immunity. In terms of diet, it is recommended to consume more foods rich in vitamins A, C, and E, such as carrots, citrus fruits and nuts, and reduce the intake of high-fat and high-sugar foods.

Early detection of cervical cancer is crucial, and regular screening and vaccination are the key to prevention. The risk of disease can be effectively reduced through a healthy lifestyle and timely medical intervention.
