What are the taboos and diet for patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma

For patients with nasopharyngeal cancer, it is important to pay attention to daily diet and understand the relevant taboos. What are the taboos for patients with nasopharyngeal cancer? How to eat?

Nasopharyngeal carcinoma is one of the most common tumors in my country, and occurs in Guangdong, Guangxi, Hunan, Fujian and other provinces. The incidence rate in men is 2-3 times that in women, and the age group with the highest incidence is 40-50 years old. In daily life, people should try to avoid being exposed to heavily polluted external air environments. Because the nasopharynx is the only way for external air to enter the lungs, harmful gases first invade the nasopharynx before entering the lungs.

The dietary taboos for nasopharyngeal carcinoma are:

1. Preserved foods such as pickled meat, salted fish, pickles, etc. contain nitrosamines, which can cause digestive tract tumors. Studies have found that the incidence of nasopharyngeal cancer is related to the frequent consumption of preserved foods. For example, during the cooking process of frequently consuming preserved meat, preserved vegetables, bacon, etc., nitrites will be converted into nitrosamines and dinitrosopiperazines, inducing cancer. Nasopharyngeal cancer can occur at any age, and the youngest patient may be only a teenager, but the high-risk age is mainly concentrated in the forties and fifties. It is recommended to eat less preserved foods.

2. Moldy food Moldy peanuts, melon seeds or corn contain a lot of aflatoxin, which can induce nasopharyngeal cancer. Aflatoxin is a highly toxic substance. The harm of aflatoxin is that it damages the liver tissue of humans and animals. Aflatoxin is used to contaminate food naturally. B1, the most toxic and carcinogenic is the most common.

We also need to pay attention to our diet, which should be high in protein, high in vitamins, and easily digestible, and avoid overheated, overcold, hard, and rough foods. Eat more vegetables and fruits; prohibit smoking and drinking, and avoid spicy, fried, and greasy products; keep your mouth clean, rinse your mouth with Dobel liquid about 10 times a day; brush your teeth with a soft toothbrush until the oral mucosa is normal.

The above is an introduction to the relevant content, I hope it will be helpful to patients and friends.
