What are the symptoms of nasopharyngeal cancer

Many diseases will not be that difficult to treat if they can be detected early, so it is important to understand the symptoms of the disease, and this is no exception for nasopharyngeal cancer. So, what are the symptoms of nasopharyngeal cancer? What are the characteristics of general symptoms?

Some people think that it is normal to have blood in the nasal mucus. I remember having nosebleeds when I was a child, and sometimes I would suck the bloody snot back. This is actually a bad situation. If this happens frequently, you should see a doctor immediately, because this may be nasopharyngeal cancer, and the sooner you treat it, the better. Many people do not understand the symptoms of nasopharyngeal cancer, and the symptoms of nasopharyngeal cancer are:

First: Cervical lymph node metastasis: NPC is prone to cervical lymph node metastasis, about 60.3% to 86.1%, of which half are bilateral metastasis. Cervical lymph node metastasis is often the first symptom of NPC.

Second: Nasopharyngeal carcinoma consistently ranks first in incidence among malignant tumors of the head and neck, and it is easy to misdiagnose in the early stage. This is because the nasopharynx is hidden and lacks specific symptoms in the early stage, while the abundant lymphatic vessels in the nasopharynx provide favorable conditions for the metastasis of cancer cells. However, it does not mean that all "blood in the snot" is nasopharyngeal carcinoma. It is actually very simple to distinguish "blood in the snot" from cancer: bleeding caused by dryness of the nasal cavity or nasopharynx often does not last long, while bleeding from nasopharyngeal carcinoma is repeated and continuous, and there are also worsening symptoms, accompanied by tinnitus, hearing loss, ear blockage and other symptoms.

At this time, just go to the hospital for a nasopharyngeal endoscopy, and you can tell at a glance whether the diagnosis is confirmed.

Third: Headache: This is a common symptom, accounting for 68.6%. In the early stage, the headache is intermittent and has no fixed location; in the late stage, it is a continuous migraine with a fixed location.

Fourth: Facial numbness: refers to the numbness of the facial skin. Clinical examination shows that pain and touch sensation are reduced or absent. The tumor invades the facial nerve, causing numbness or abnormal sensation in the skin of the front part of the auricle, cheek, lower lip and chin.
