The role of targeted drugs for breast cancer

The role of targeted drugs for breast cancer

Commonly used targeted drugs for breast cancer patients include HER2 trastuzumab, as well as apatinib, anlotinib and other multi-target drugs. Targeted drug therapy can improve the clinical prognosis of patients with locally advanced breast cancer to a certain extent. For targeted therapy, while paying attention to the clinical treatment effect, attention should be paid to the adverse reactions of the drug. Common adverse reactions of targeted drugs include rash, oral ulcers, bleeding, etc. At present, the targeted drug treatment of breast cancer is mainly HER2 treatment. It is currently recommended to remove delipidomab and pertuzumab, mainly intravenous infusion. For second-line treatment, pyrotinib is recommended as an oral preparation. Other anti-vascular targeted drugs are also recommended. The most commonly used targeted therapy drugs for breast cancer are HER2 resistance drugs, including trastuzumab, pertuzumab, lapatinib, pyrotinib and other related drugs.

Will breast cancer metastasize after surgery in the middle and late stages?

Patients with breast cancer metastasis to a single lung, if asymptomatic, generally have a survival time of more than 5 years. For patients with multiple metastases, chest tightness, shortness of breath, or even pleural effusion, the survival time is generally significantly affected, and the median survival time may be only about 3-5 years, but the overall prognosis of breast cancer patients is relatively good. Patients may also experience abdominal pain, chest pain, chest tightness, severe dyspnea, and anemia and hypoproteinemia are also prone to occur in the later stages. Patients are in great pain, and severe dyspnea also requires local anesthesia and chest puncture to drain fluid, because the most common is a large amount of pleural effusion secondary to lung metastasis, and patients may also have a fever. Metastasis may occur after surgery in the middle and late stages of breast cancer.

How long can you live without treatment for breast cancer?

If breast cancer has already formed in the middle or late stages, it needs appropriate chemotherapy drugs for treatment, but if it cannot be cured, the patient's life can only be prolonged. If breast cancer in the middle or late stages can be treated actively and the growth, development and spread of the tumor can be controlled, long-term survival is possible. The survival period of breast cancer patients should be several months to several years, which varies according to different situations.
