How to know the stage of nasopharyngeal cancer and how to prevent it

If you have nasopharyngeal cancer, many people would like to know what stage they are in. Here is how to know the stage of nasopharyngeal cancer? How to prevent nasopharyngeal cancer?

Nasopharyngeal carcinoma often occurs in the posterior wall of the nasopharyngeal roof and pharyngeal recesses, and can also originate in the pharyngeal opening of the Eustachian tube or the posterior nasal aperture. Canceration is multi-centric and asynchronous, and is prone to occur in the depressions on the mucosal surface. Cancer cells can originate from squamous epithelial cells, but most of them come from pseudostratified ciliated columnar epithelium. After that, it can first become cancerous and then squamous, or it can first squamous and then cancerous. Squamous is a characteristic of nasopharyngeal mucosal canceration.

According to the international anti-cancer TNM nasopharyngeal carcinoma staging system, it can be divided into the following stages.

Ⅰ Primary tumor T stage

T1: The primary tumor is confined to the nasopharynx.

T1a The degree of invasion is minimal.

T1b is limited to one wall of the nasopharynx or the junction of two walls.

T1c is limited to two or more walls of the nasopharynx.

T2 The primary lesion invades the nasal cavity, oropharynx, or involves adjacent muscles and nerves below the skull base.

T3 The primary disease invades bones, paranasal sinuses, or cranial nerves.

Nasopharyngeal cancer is mainly caused by changes in spirit and mood, emotional discomfort, which makes the internal organs weak, the vital energy insufficient, and unable to adapt to the changes in the external climate and environment. Nasopharyngeal diseases include residual gland infection in the nasopharynx, mucosal erosion, mucosal ulcer, nasopharyngeal hyperplasia nodules, etc. Therefore, the following points should be noted:

1. Pay attention to climate changes, prevent colds, keep your nose and throat clean, and avoid viral infections.

2. Try to avoid inhaling harmful fumes, such as kerosene lamp gas, insecticide aerosols, etc., and actively quit smoking and drinking.

3. If you have nasopharyngeal diseases, you should seek medical treatment as soon as possible. If you find blood in your nasal discharge or blood in your nasal discharge after sneezing, or if you have unexplained swollen lymph nodes in the neck or fluid in the middle ear, you should have a detailed nasopharyngeal examination in time.
