Recurrence rate after surgery for mid-term gastric cancer

Patients with mid-stage gastric cancer usually need radical surgery, which can remove part or all of the stomach, including the cancer and the stomach wall that may be infiltrated. In addition, the lymph nodes around the stomach can be cleared after surgery. Patients with mid-stage gastric cancer can also undergo adjuvant chemotherapy after surgery. The purpose of adjuvant chemotherapy is to reduce the recurrence of patients after mid-stage gastric cancer surgery and improve the cure rate. Usually, radical surgery is performed and then chemotherapy is performed. The recurrence rate of patients after mid-stage gastric cancer surgery will decrease, which may reach about 30 to 40 percent. After radical surgery, early patients are observed for a period of time, and the possibility of complete cure is relatively high. The recurrence rate of early gastric cancer is about 10%.

Is a rumbling sound in the stomach a sign of stomach cancer?

Or the patient drinks a lot of water, and the food stays in the stomach for too long after eating. The stomach will digest and absorb the food through constant peristalsis, and the gurgling sound will appear. This sound is not normally audible. Its frequency is two to four times per minute, but the volume is too low, and a stethoscope is needed to be used on the patient's abdomen to hear it. A gurgling sound in the stomach is not gastric cancer.

Can stomach cancer be cured?

Gastric cancer is a common malignant tumor of the digestive tract. Early and middle stage gastric cancer can generally be treated surgically. After surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy or immunotherapy and other systemic treatments can be assisted. Some patients have the hope of being cured and can survive for many years without recurrence. When you wait for symptoms to be checked, it is usually in the middle or late stage. At this time, there is no hope of a cure. You can only prolong your life as much as possible through surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Whether gastric cancer can be cured depends mainly on the stage of gastric cancer development. If it is in the early or middle stage, it can generally be treated well and cured.
