Is nasopharyngeal cancer contagious? What are the causes of the disease?

Can nasopharyngeal cancer be infected? What is the reason?

If nasopharyngeal carcinoma is not infected, the treatment options for nasopharyngeal carcinoma are relatively mature, most of which are effective to reduce the recurrence and metastasis of tumors. Chinese and Western medicine have their own advantages in treating tumors. The treatment of nasopharyngeal carcinoma must give full play to the advantages of Chinese and Western medicine, adhere to long-term treatment, relax the patient's psychological state, do a good job of psychological treatment, increase dietary nutrition, and improve immune function. In this way, we can achieve better results.

Nasopharyngeal carcinoma cannot be infected like other bacteria. The presence of Epstein-Barr virus may aggravate the induction of nasopharyngeal carcinoma, but it does not fundamentally prove that nasopharyngeal carcinoma is contagious.

What is the cause of nasopharyngeal cancer?

1. The cause of nasopharyngeal carcinoma is Epstein-Barr virus infection, which is closely related to the occurrence of nasopharyngeal carcinoma. Most keratinizing squamous cell carcinomas and almost all undifferentiated squamous cell carcinomas have EBV. Nasopharyngeal carcinoma is also related to genetic factors. Nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients have racial and family clustering.

2. Environmental factors are also one of the causes of nasopharyngeal cancer. The content of trace element nickel in rice and water in areas with a high incidence of nasopharyngeal cancer is low, and the nickel content in the hair of nasopharyngeal cancer patients is low.

3. Inhalation of harmful gases such as asbestos, nickel, passive smoking, radiation, etc. Except for passive smoking, the others are related to production environment pollution. Smoking: Many studies have shown that smoking is closely related to the incidence of nasopharyngeal cancer.

4. Eating habits and pickled foods: Studies have found that frequent intake of pickled foods such as salted fish, pickled meat, and pickled vegetables is associated with the incidence of nasopharyngeal cancer. These foods contain high levels of nitrite, which will precipitate high concentrations of nitrosamines and dinitrosopiperazines during cooking, and these compounds can induce cancer.
