What does a positive HPV result in cervical cancer screening mean?

HPV refers to human papillomavirus, which has more than 100 subtypes, divided into high-risk and low-risk types. Persistent infection with high-risk HPV is the main cause of cervical cancer. HPV positivity indicates infection with HPV virus, namely human papillomavirus, which mainly infects the stratified squamous epithelium of the skin and mucous membranes in specific parts of the human body. The diseases caused by different genotypes of HPV are different. There are many types of human papillomavirus, among which high-risk types are the risk factors for cervical cancer, especially high-risk types 16 and 18, which have a relatively high risk of causing cervical cancer.

Where can I get the cervical cancer vaccine?

Generally speaking, in the past, most patients who received the cervical cancer vaccine went to the epidemic prevention station or the local CDC to get the vaccine. However, the rescue measures of the epidemic prevention station and the CDC are not very complete now, so now the cervical cancer vaccine has been changed to go to the local public tertiary hospitals. The cervical cancer vaccine is the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine. The injection site is the subcutaneous part of the deltoid muscle of the upper arm. It needs to be injected according to the course of treatment. Generally, three injections complete the whole process of the vaccine. After vaccination with the 4-valent vaccine, it can effectively prevent infection with two high-risk types of viruses, 16 and 18, thereby preventing the occurrence of cervical cancer.

How to treat advanced cervical cancer?

The overall prognosis of advanced cervical cancer is relatively poor, and it is generally accompanied by multiple metastases, including regional lymph node metastasis and invasion of distant organs, such as liver and lung metastasis. After surgical treatment of advanced cervical cancer, biological immunotherapy should be actively selected to enhance one's own anti-tumor immunity and prevent postoperative recurrence and metastasis. If it has been confirmed to be in the advanced stage, most patients with mid-to-late stage cervical cancer need radiotherapy!
