What are the early symptoms of nasopharyngeal carcinoma

The high incidence of nasopharyngeal cancer is mainly in the south, and Guangdong Province is one of the most common malignant tumors, also known as Guangdong cancer. So, what are the early symptoms of nasopharyngeal cancer? Common early symptoms!

Nasopharyngeal carcinoma is one of the common malignant tumors in my country. It often occurs on the top of the posterior wall of the nasopharynx, followed by the side wall. Nasopharyngeal carcinoma is extremely rare in the front wall and bottom wall. The age of onset of nasopharyngeal carcinoma is mostly middle-aged and adolescent. Due to the special anatomical location of the nasopharynx, the early symptoms of nasopharyngeal carcinoma are extremely subtle and easily ignored by nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients. The early symptoms of nasopharyngeal carcinoma include:

First: Headache: In the early stage, there may be headache, mostly on one side and intermittent; in the late stage, there is continuous severe headache, which is easily mistaken for neuralgia.

Second: Bleeding: It is mainly caused by the blood in the posterior nasal ligament or bloody nose discharge. At the beginning, it is often a small amount of blood, which is easy to be ignored. When the amount of bleeding is large, the disease often enters the middle and late stages.

Third: Unilateral facial paralysis. Nasopharyngeal carcinoma invades the cranial nerves and can also cause facial paralysis, decreased vision or diplopia in the affected eye. These early symptoms of nasopharyngeal carcinoma are sometimes the initial complaints of some patients.

The early symptoms of nasopharyngeal carcinoma are not obvious, so they are easily ignored by patients and doctors. These symptoms include nosebleeds, runny nose, nasal congestion or Eustachian tube obstruction. As for early bleeding, late symptoms include image overlap, facial pain and headache.

The first symptom of NPC spreading may be swollen lymph nodes, as the nasopharynx has a strong lymphatic drainage that leads to the neck. At this stage, patients can seek treatment immediately and have a chance of cure. If the cancer grows larger or spreads to the lungs, liver, and bones, cure is much less likely.
