Will hepatitis B patients get liver cancer?

The incubation period of hepatitis B is 6 weeks to 6 months, usually 3 months. The period from the invasion of the hepatitis virus to the initial clinical symptoms is called the incubation period. The incubation period varies depending on the type, quantity, toxicity of the pathogen and the immune status of the human body.

1. Systemic manifestations: often feel tired, easily fatigued, may be accompanied by mild fever, etc. Insomnia and dreaminess may be related to this.

2. Gastrointestinal manifestations: hepatitis, abnormal liver function, decreased bile secretion, loss of appetite, nausea, aversion to oil, upper abdominal discomfort, abdominal distension, etc.

3. Jaundice: When the condition is serious, liver function is impaired, bilirubin intake, binding, secretion, excretion and other disorders occur, and the bilirubin concentration in the blood increases. Bilirubin is excreted in the urine, and the urine color turns yellow, which is the earliest manifestation of jaundice. The continuous increase in the bilirubin concentration in the blood can cause yellowing of the eyes and skin. Due to the obstruction of bile acid excretion, the bile acid concentration in the blood increases, and excessive bile acid deposition in the skin stimulates the peripheral nerves, which can cause skin itching.

4. Pain in the liver area: Chronic hepatitis B generally does not cause severe pain. Some patients may experience discomfort, dull pain, tenderness, or percussion pain in the right upper abdomen or right ribs. If the pain in the liver area is severe, attention should also be paid to the possibility of biliary disease, liver cancer, and gastrointestinal disease to avoid misdiagnosis.

5. Hepatosplenomegaly: Due to inflammation, congestion, edema, and cholestasis, patients often have an enlarged liver. In the late stage, a large number of liver cells are damaged, the fibrous tissue shrinks, and the liver may shrink. In acute hepatitis or the early stage of chronic hepatitis, the spleen is not obviously enlarged, but portal hypertension and splenic congestion can cause splenomegaly.
