What are the symptoms of gastric cancer

What are the symptoms of stomach cancer?

Most patients with early-stage gastric cancer generally have no obvious symptoms, and a few have nausea, vomiting, or upper gastrointestinal symptoms similar to ulcers. As the disease progresses to the middle and late stages, patients often have more obvious upper gastrointestinal symptoms, and some patients even experience symptoms such as vomiting blood, blood in the stool, and abdominal masses. Since gastric cancer has no obvious symptoms or only mild symptoms in the early stages, most patients tend to develop to the late stages. It is recommended that people over 45 years old, if they have upper abdominal discomfort, must undergo a gastroscopy as soon as possible to rule out gastric cancer.

Symptoms of stomach cancer are as follows:

1. Early stage: no discomfort or simple indigestion;

2. Progressive stage: upper abdominal distension and pain, palpable mass; anorexia, fatigue, progressive weight loss; pain behind the sternum and difficulty swallowing when the tumor is high; pyloric obstruction; even inducing massive gastrointestinal bleeding;

3. Late stage: enlarged clavicular lymph nodes; malignant symptoms such as anemia, emaciation, malnutrition, progressive weight loss, etc.; once metastasis occurs, various metastatic symptoms will appear.

Early Gastric Cancer:

Minimally invasive treatment can be performed through gastroscopy, which is relatively low-cost and can cure about 90% of patients; Advanced gastric cancer: mainly surgical treatment. Depending on the patient's condition, 3-4 cycles of neoadjuvant chemotherapy can be performed, and chemotherapy can be continued after surgery.

Advanced Gastric Cancer:

Chemotherapy, targeted therapy, biological therapy, traditional Chinese medicine treatment, etc. If the patient has distant metastasis or obstruction symptoms, symptomatic treatment can be performed. If the patient cannot eat, reconstructive surgery can be performed. If there is intestinal obstruction, surgery or stent placement can be performed.
