1. First, the patient should undergo a cystoscopy and take tissue for pathological examination. If it is non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer, transurethral bladder tumor resection is recommended, and auxiliary bladder instillation chemotherapy after surgery. Gemcitabine, mitomycin, pirarubicin, etc. are generally recommended.

2. Bladder cancer in elderly people is generally not suitable for surgical treatment. Conservative treatment can be considered, such as local infusion of chemotherapy drugs and local electroresection of bladder cancer.

Will bladder cancer in the middle and late stages heal itself?

Surgery is an effective treatment for early bladder cancer. After surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, laser therapy and other treatments can be used to prevent the spread and metastasis of cancer cells.

Then we will see if it is necessary to remove the bladder and create a urine bag. It is impossible for bladder cancer to heal itself in the middle and late stages.

How long is the hospital stay for a cystectomy?

There is also the possibility of recurrence and metastasis after surgery. For those with more obvious symptoms, re-examination is required to rule out the possibility of tumor recurrence.

If a transurethral resection of bladder tumor is performed, the bladder can be saved and the hospital stay is usually short, 3 to 5 days. If a total bladder surgery is performed, the entire bladder is removed and an ileostomy is performed, and the hospital stay is usually longer, about 1 to 2 weeks.
