What is the applicable scope of rectal cancer surgery

What is the indication for rectal cancer surgery?

Generally speaking, rectal cancer surgery requires the following conditions to be met: the rectal tumor must be greater than 8 cm from the anus, the condition must be in stage one or two, and the patient must not be obese.

1. The rectal tumor is more than 8 cm away from the anus: If the rectal tumor is relatively close to the anus, it is very easy to cause damage to the anus during surgery, increasing the risk of surgery.

2. The disease is divided into stage I and stage II: Stage I and II rectal cancer usually has a small tumor volume and the cancer cells have not yet spread. After rectal cancer surgery, the progression of the disease can usually be effectively controlled, thereby increasing the success rate of the operation.

3. Avoid obesity: Rectal cancer surgery usually requires abdominal incision. Therefore, if the patient has obesity problems, there will be more abdominal fat, which will increase the complexity of the operation and may even bring the risk of heavy bleeding.

In addition to the above range, other conditions such as heart and brain diseases need to be considered. A physical examination is usually required before rectal cancer surgery, and surgery can only be performed after all indicators meet the requirements. When treating the disease, you should go to the hospital for a detailed consultation and choose a treatment method that suits you. At the same time, maintaining an optimistic attitude will help the recovery of the disease, and you also need to eat more nutritious foods, such as celery, spinach, beef, etc.
