Will breast cancer not recur if I take endocrine drugs?

Will taking endocrine drugs prevent breast cancer from recurring?

Breast cancer patients may still experience recurrence even after taking endocrine drugs.

The main endocrine drugs for breast cancer include exemestane tablets, tamoxifen tablets, etc., which have few side effects and are convenient. Studies have also shown that 5 to 10 years of endocrine therapy after breast cancer surgery can help reduce the risk of recurrence. However, there are many treatments for breast cancer, and endocrine therapy is only one of the treatments for breast cancer, which also includes surgery, chemotherapy, and molecular targeted therapy. Endocrine therapy for breast cancer is only effective in some cases. If the tumor of a breast cancer patient is a hormone-dependent tumor, that is, the estrogen receptor content in breast cancer cells is high, endocrine therapy is effective. If the estrogen receptor content is poor, the response to endocrine therapy is poor, and even if endocrine drugs are taken, there is still a possibility of recurrence.

In addition to endocrine drugs, the recurrence rate of breast cancer is also related to the clinical stage of breast cancer, molecular typing, and whether standardized treatment is performed. When you have breast cancer, you should go to a regular cancer hospital for standardized treatment, and the drugs should be used according to the doctor's advice. During the treatment, pay attention to relaxation and avoid tension and anxiety, because negative emotions can also affect the treatment effect.
