How to treat advanced laryngeal cancer

Laryngeal cancer is a common malignant tumor, which is more common in people over 40 years old and mostly occurs in middle-aged and elderly men. The occurrence of laryngeal cancer is related to factors such as smoking, alcoholism, long-term inhalation of harmful substances and papillomavirus infection. Once laryngeal cancer is discovered, if it is not treated in time, it is easy to develop into an advanced stage. The physical condition of patients with advanced laryngeal cancer is relatively weak and not suitable for surgical treatment. So how is the treatment recommended for advanced laryngeal cancer? Let's take a look.

The most common treatments for advanced laryngeal cancer are:

Surgical treatment: Advanced laryngeal cancer is more difficult to treat than early laryngeal cancer. Surgery is one of the common treatments for patients with early laryngeal cancer, and its treatment effect is relatively ideal. However, there are two reasons why patients with advanced laryngeal cancer are not suitable for surgical treatment: first, the damage is great and the patient cannot bear the trauma caused by surgery. Second, in the advanced stage, laryngeal cancer generally spreads and metastasizes, and even after resection, the development of the tumor cannot be controlled. Therefore, surgical treatment is rarely chosen in the advanced stage of laryngeal cancer.

Radiotherapy and chemotherapy: Radiotherapy and chemotherapy are commonly used treatments for advanced laryngeal cancer. Radiotherapy can effectively control tumor development and shrink tumors, while chemotherapy can kill cancer cells throughout the body and reduce the chance of recurrence and metastasis. However, due to serious side effects and defects in treatment, the treatment often fails to achieve the expected effect, and most patients do not have a good effect. It is recommended that after radiotherapy and chemotherapy, combined with traditional Chinese medicine consolidation treatment, it can kill residual cancer cells, repair normal damaged cells, reduce toxic side effects, regulate the patient's body functions, enhance immune function, and improve the efficacy of radiotherapy and chemotherapy.

Traditional Chinese Medicine Treatment: Traditional Chinese Medicine is more effective in the late stage of laryngeal cancer, because patients with late stage laryngeal cancer are physically weak due to the large consumption of cancer cells, and most of the cancer cells have metastasized to multiple places. Western medicine local treatment is not effective, and patients cannot tolerate surgery and chemotherapy. Taking Chinese medicine can comprehensively regulate the body's internal environment, replenish qi and blood, strengthen the body and eliminate evil, effectively control the disease, relieve pain, and prolong life.
