How long can you live after laryngeal cancer treatment

Laryngeal cancer is a malignant tumor that occurs in the larynx. Many people panic because of having laryngeal cancer. So how long can you live with laryngeal cancer? What are the symptoms of laryngeal cancer? What treatments are available for patients with laryngeal cancer? Let us find out together.

How long can you live with laryngeal cancer?

The survival time of laryngeal cancer varies greatly depending on the location, size, degree of tumor differentiation, and whether it has metastasized. For example, the survival time of hypopharyngeal laryngeal cancer is generally about 1 year, and rarely exceeds 3 years. However, there are exceptions. After surgery, after cell immunotherapy, without chemotherapy, there has been no recurrence so far. Of course, after the tumor recurs, it mainly blocks the airway, which is very uncomfortable.

It is recommended to use Chinese medicine for treatment, which is effective quickly and has a definite effect. It is very effective for laryngeal cancer, and many patients have survived for a long time after using it. The combination of these drugs can shrink the tumor in a short period of time, control metastasis and spread, relieve pain, stabilize the condition, prolong survival, and improve the quality of life.

Early symptoms of laryngeal cancer

1. Hoarseness is the earliest sign of laryngeal cancer. Laryngeal cancer is a tumor that grows on the vocal cords. Even if it is small in size, it will cause hoarseness. Adults who have unexplained hoarseness for more than two weeks should undergo a detailed throat examination and should not take it lightly. Because the patient does not feel any pain or itching at this time, they often mistakenly think it is caused by a "cold" or "pharyngitis." However, hoarseness caused by colds and inflammation will quickly improve as the inflammation subsides, while hoarseness caused by laryngeal cancer will progressively worsen and gradually develop into a coarser and hoarse voice until complete loss of voice.

2. Foreign body sensation, urgency or swallowing discomfort are early symptoms of supraglottic laryngeal cancer. However, the initial symptoms of this type of cancer are often not obvious and are not discovered until the second or third stage. Tracing the medical history, it can take several months. If middle-aged and elderly people have throat discomfort, they should undergo a comprehensive and detailed examination. They must not treat it hastily as pharyngeal paresthesia or chronic pharyngitis, which will delay the precious treatment opportunity.

3. Tumor stimulation can cause irritating dry coughs, blood in sputum, and patients often feel sticky mucus, so they often "wash their throats". When the tumor grows, it will block the airway, making it difficult for tracheal secretions to be discharged, causing respiratory infections, wheezing, and even dyspnea. In the middle and late stages, it will manifest as persistent coughs and changes in pronunciation.

Friends who experience the above symptoms of laryngeal cancer should undergo further examination and diagnosis as soon as possible to avoid missing the good opportunity for treatment.
