What are the symptoms of advanced bladder cancer

In recent years, the incidence of bladder cancer has been increasing. Many people are troubled by this disease. Although there are no obvious symptoms in the early stage of the disease, once it reaches the late stage, the symptoms of the disease are more obvious. So what are the late symptoms of bladder cancer?

1. Hematuria: Hematuria is the most common symptom of bladder cancer. Data show that 94% of patients have this as the main symptom. Hematuria is mostly macroscopic hematuria, followed by microscopic hematuria. It can be intermittent, whole-course hematuria, or terminal hematuria. Due to the diversity of hematuria, it is easy to be misdiagnosed or delayed in diagnosis. As the disease progresses or the lesion range becomes larger or is complicated by infection, it may be accompanied by urinary tract irritation symptoms, discharge of rotten meat-like substances, discharge of lumps, blood clots, or difficulty urinating due to lumps blocking the urinary tract, dripping, or even urine retention.

2. Urinary tract irritation symptoms: This symptom may occur when the tumor occurs in the bladder triangle or when there is infection. It is reported that bladder irritation symptoms also reveal the possibility of bladder carcinoma in situ. Therefore, patients with bladder irritation symptoms who lack sufficient evidence of infection should be examined as soon as possible to rule out bladder cancer.

3. Others: If the tumor infiltrates into the ureteral orifice or grows at the ureteral orifice, it can cause ureteral dilation, leading to hydronephrosis and enlarged kidney volume. When bladder cancer metastasizes to the lungs, liver, and bones, corresponding symptoms will appear, such as cough, shortness of breath, abnormal liver function, pain in the liver area, and bone pain somewhere. A systematic examination should be conducted to make a timely diagnosis and early treatment.

The above are the symptoms of advanced bladder cancer. When hematuria or severe pain occurs, it means that the disease is more serious, so everyone must pay more attention to it. In order to detect the existence of the disease as early as possible, it is recommended that everyone go to the hospital regularly for relevant examinations.
