What are the common causes of bladder cancer?

Bladder cancer is a very serious disease, but many people in society do not know how to protect their bladders, which leads to so many bladder cancer patients in society. Therefore, everyone should pay attention to bladder cancer. So what are the common causes of bladder cancer?

(1) Lack of water: Lack of water may cause bladder cancer. Experts point out that people who consume very little fluid have a higher risk of bladder cancer. Very little fluid intake makes urine concentrated and prolongs the urination period. If the bladder retains concentrated urine for a long time, it may increase the risk of bladder cancer. Pay attention to drinking more water in daily life.

(2) Occupational factors: Bladder cancer is also related to some occupational factors, such as exposure to benzene dyes, which is the most common industrial risk factor for bladder cancer. It has been reported that people in the following occupations have an increased risk of bladder cancer: auto workers, painters, truck drivers, drillers, leather workers, metallurgists, mechanics, dry cleaners, papermakers, barbers, beauticians, oncologists, garment workers and plumbers.

(3) Tobacco: Tobacco may also cause bladder cancer. Studies have shown that 25% to 65% of bladder cancer patients smoke. Compared with non-smokers, smokers have a four-fold increased risk of bladder cancer. Smokers should pay attention to quitting smoking in time, as quitting smoking can reduce the risk of bladder cancer.

(4) Pelvic radiotherapy: Pelvic radiotherapy can also increase the risk of bladder cancer. Experts say that women who receive pelvic radiotherapy for cervical cancer or ovarian cancer have a 2-4 times increased risk of bladder cancer.

(5) Phenacetin: The occurrence of bladder cancer requires careful use of phenacetin. Phenacetin is an analgesic that has been withdrawn from the market in the United States, but is still in use in China. Studies have shown that large doses of phenacetin can increase the risk of bladder cancer.

Everyone should ensure that they have sufficient water in their body. This will not only reduce their risk of developing bladder cancer, but will also help them maintain a healthy body. At the same time, everyone should know how to deal with bladder cancer, which will greatly reduce their chances of developing the disease.
