Isn't low-risk prostate cancer cancer?

It is not true that low-risk prostate cancer is not cancer. Low-risk prostate cancer refers to a classification of prostate cancer that is considered to be a slower-growing, less aggressive form of prostate cancer.

Generally, low-risk prostate cancer refers to cancer with the following characteristics: first, a low Gleason score. The Gleason score is a standard for evaluating the morphology of prostate cancer cells. The score ranges from 2 to 10. The lower the value, the closer the prostate cancer cells are to normal cells and the better the prognosis. Second, a low prostate-specific antigen level. Prostate-specific antigen is a prostate-specific antigen that is often used to diagnose and evaluate disease progression in prostate cancer screening and monitoring. Low-risk prostate cancer is usually accompanied by a lower prostate-specific antigen level. Third, the clinical course is slower. Low-risk prostate cancer usually has a longer growth time and may remain relatively stable for a long time without rapidly spreading or invading other tissues.

For the treatment of low-risk prostate cancer, your doctor may recommend a wait-and-see approach or active surveillance, which means not starting active treatment right away but monitoring the progression of the tumor through regular prostate-specific antigen tests, digital rectal exams, and biopsies.

Once diagnosed with prostate cancer, regardless of the type, you should seek medical treatment in time and maintain a healthy lifestyle, such as consuming more fruits, vegetables and whole grains, limiting the intake of red meat and saturated fat, moderate physical exercise, and a regular schedule.
