How long can one live with prolonged edema due to pancreatic cancer

The occurrence of edema in pancreatic cancer patients usually indicates that they have developed more serious complications such as hypoproteinemia, lower limb venous thrombosis or renal insufficiency. However, it is uncertain how long they can live at most. It depends on the treatment effect, nursing conditions and the patient's own physical condition, and it may be as short as a few months or as long as more than 5 years.

If pancreatic cancer patients are young, in good physical condition, can actively cooperate with treatment, are sensitive to treatment methods, have good treatment effects, and receive good care, then their survival time will be relatively long, and a few can survive for more than 5 years. If patients with weak constitutions have poor immunity, or are insensitive to treatment measures such as surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, and have poor effects, and are improperly cared for in daily life, their condition may progress rapidly, they may die in a short period of time, and their survival time may be only a few months.

After discovering pancreatic cancer, you should go to the hospital's oncology department as soon as possible. According to the stage of the disease and your own condition, follow the doctor's advice and take appropriate treatment plans to prolong survival time and improve quality of life.
