The skin turns red and scratches appear when scratched

If your skin turns red and leaves scratches when you scratch it, it is probably caused by artificial urticaria, also known as skin scratching.

Artificial urticaria is a type of chronic urticaria. The specific cause is still unclear. If you scratch the local skin after the disease, scratches are likely to appear. It is also closely related to wearing tight clothes frequently, such as marks from strangulation, which are more likely to occur below the skin. At the same time, edema will also form. The occurrence of edema is related to factors such as the stimulation of mast cells. Some histamine is likely to be produced. After the release of histamine, local edema will form, and scratches or wheals will be found.

After the diagnosis is confirmed, calamine lotion can be used for treatment under the guidance of a doctor, and it should be combined with drugs such as Urticaria Pills and Recurrent Glycyrrhizic Acid Tablets to promote recovery. Ointments can also be used for treatment, such as camphor cream. During the treatment, pay attention to personal hygiene and keep the local area clean and dry. If the symptoms do not improve for a long time after treatment, you need to go to a regular hospital for treatment. If necessary, methylprednisolone tablets can be used to promote recovery.

You should also adjust your diet, avoid spicy and irritating foods, quit smoking and drinking, and try not to scratch frequently when you feel itchy, otherwise the skin will be damaged and cause infection.
