There are usually no symptoms in the early stages of prostate cancer, and prostate nodules can only be found during a physical examination with rectal indications. The affected area of prostate cancer is outside the prostate at the beginning, and it is easy to touch with the hand. Prostate cancer usually causes dysuria and hematuria in the late stage of cancer. If dysuria and hematuria occur in the early stage, it is mainly because the patient also has prostate hyperplasia. The two most common symptoms of prostate cancer patients are obstructive symptoms and metastatic symptoms. Obstructive symptoms: As the cancer enlarges and compresses the urethra, symptoms similar to those of benign prostatic hypertrophy may occur, including frequent urination, thin urine stream, increased nocturia, slow urine flow, incomplete urination, and difficulty urinating. Severe cases may lead to urinary retention and dribbling, but hematuria is rare. Metastatic symptoms: When the tumor invades the capsule and the peripheral nerves near the capsule, lower abdominal pain, perineal pain and sciatica will occur. When the tumor invades the bladder triangle, urinary pain and hematuria will occur. When the tumor invades the seminal vesicle, there will be symptoms of blood in the semen. If an elderly person over 80 years old has blood in the semen, the possibility of prostate cancer is very high, and he should go to the hospital for relevant examinations immediately. When the tumor invades the rectum, diarrhea, blood in the urine or difficulty urinating, and colon obstruction will occur. When the tumor invades the urethra, it may cause urinary incontinence. The tumor can also metastasize to the internal organs. If it invades the lungs, breathing difficulties and hemoptysis will occur; if it invades the liver, the liver will swell and liver function will be abnormal; if it invades the brain, neurological symptoms will occur. When it invades the pelvis, the swollen pelvic lymph nodes will compress the blood vessels and cause leg edema and lymph swelling; when the ureter is invaded, it will cause bilateral or unilateral ureteral obstruction, hydronephrosis, and even renal failure. Symptoms such as low back pain, less or no urination, nausea and vomiting will occur. The incidence of prostate cancer in my country used to be relatively low, but with the aging of the population, the incidence of prostate cancer has been gradually increasing in recent years. Based on the principle of early detection and early treatment of the disease, it is recommended that men over the age of 50 should undergo regular prostate examinations to protect their health. |
