Causes of prostate cancer

Causes of prostate cancer

Prostate cancer is one of the diseases that are unique to men. At present, the medical community has not yet reached a clear conclusion on the cause of prostate cancer, which has led to doctors being unable to carry out targeted treatment based on the cause, causing great trouble in the treatment of prostate cancer. Medical experts have found some factors that are likely to cause prostate cancer by summarizing clinical cases over the years, mainly the following points.

1. Age factor: The occurrence of prostate cancer is related to age. Young men under the age of 45 rarely suffer from prostate cancer. The vast majority of men with prostate cancer are over 65 years old. Statistics show that for men over 40, the risk of developing prostate cancer doubles with every ten-year increase in age.

2. Genetic factors: If there is a blood relative with prostate cancer, the chance of getting prostate cancer will be higher than that of ordinary people. According to statistics, about 9% of people with prostate cancer have a family history of the disease.

3. Hormonal factors: The more male hormones a person secretes, the higher the chance of developing prostate cancer. This is because most prostate cancer cells have hormone receptors on their surface. Without the stimulation of male hormones, prostate cancer cells will shrink and degenerate.

4. Dietary factors: Prostate cancer has a great relationship with diet. If you often eat foods containing high animal fat, the chance of developing prostate cancer will be higher than that of ordinary people. People who usually eat more fresh vegetables and fruits have a relatively low probability of getting the disease.

5. Infection factors: Long-term chronic viral infections and bacterial infections will increase the risk of prostate cancer.

In addition to the above reasons, heavy smoking, too frequent sex, excessive masturbation, repeated attacks of prostate inflammation without effective treatment are also one of the causes of prostate cancer. In addition, if men are exposed to industrial carcinogens such as cadmium at work for a long time, the chance of developing prostate cancer is also high. Men must pay attention to the details in life and develop good living habits to avoid the occurrence of prostate cancer.
