What tests are needed to diagnose lung cancer? Three tests can confirm lung cancer

The examinations required for diagnosing lung cancer include thoracoscopy, bronchoscopy, and imaging, among which imaging includes magnetic resonance imaging, ultrasound, CT, chest X-ray, pET-CT, etc. Different examination methods provide different information about the patient. Based on the information obtained, the patient can be treated with surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, and other treatments to control the progression of the disease.

Lung cancer generally refers to malignant tumors in the respiratory system, such as multiple bronchi and lung tissues. This malignant tumor is mainly related to ionizing radiation, heredity, previous chronic lung infection, air pollution, smoking and other factors. People with this disease may have no obvious symptoms in the early stage, but when the disease develops to a certain extent, symptoms such as irritating dry cough and chest pain will appear. Patients with these symptoms should be examined in time for a clear diagnosis. So what are the tests needed for the diagnosis of this disease? Let's take a look below.

1. Imaging examination

The imaging examination methods of this disease mainly include CT, magnetic resonance imaging, ultrasound, chest X-ray, etc. These examinations can not only be used for the diagnosis, staging, and restaging of the disease, but also for efficacy monitoring and prognosis evaluation. Therefore, whether before or after treatment, patients need to undergo imaging examinations.

2. Bronchoscopy

Bronchoscopy is one of the most commonly used methods for diagnosing the disease, which can directly observe the patient's lesions. This examination is mostly suitable for patients with central lung cancer, and brushing, needle aspiration, biopsy, lavage, cytology and histology can all be performed under this examination.

3. Thoracoscopic examination

Thoracoscopy can not only accurately diagnose the disease, but also stage the disease. In addition, for early-stage patients who cannot obtain pathological specimens through examination methods such as TBLB and TTNA, this examination can be used to obtain pathological specimens for biopsy and then confirm the diagnosis of the disease.
