How should liver cancer be treated at different stages? Liver cancer is divided into 5 stages with different symptoms

Liver cancer is usually divided into three stages: early, middle and late. In the early stage, patients will not have obvious symptoms and the tumor is relatively small. In the middle stage, there will be persistent pain in the liver area, but the liver function is normal. In the late stage, cancer cells have seriously invaded the liver, causing jaundice and ascites in patients. In medicine, liver cancer is divided into 5 stages.

What are the 5 stages of liver cancer?

Stage I, subclinical liver cancer

In the clinical stage of liver cancer, the alpha-fetoprotein of patients will be significantly elevated, but no space-occupying lesions are found in the liver, and the liver function is in a normal state. Such people should choose Chinese medicine or liver protection treatment. If liver cancer lesions are found by imaging, they can be removed by local drug injection or surgery.

Stage II, early liver cancer

Patients with early-stage liver cancer have normal liver function and no severe cirrhosis, and can undergo surgery to remove the liver. If the liver function is abnormal, Western medicine or Chinese medicine should be used to protect the liver first, and surgery should be considered when the liver function returns to normal. If residual cancer lesions are found after surgical resection, radiotherapy should be performed after surgery. If no cancer lesions are found in the portal vein, Chinese medicine or immunotherapy should be used first to improve the quality of life.

Stage III, small liver cancer

For patients with malignant tumors smaller than 3 cm, surgical resection is the main option. If accompanied by severe liver cirrhosis, local injection of drugs is required under the guidance of B-ultrasound. After surgical resection of liver cancer, in order to prevent recurrence of the disease, immune drugs, chemotherapy drugs or traditional Chinese medicine are needed after surgery to prevent recurrence.

Stage IV, mid-stage liver cancer

As long as the liver function is normal, radical resection should be chosen. If it cannot be removed before surgery, local radiotherapy or Chinese medicine treatment can be selected, and surgical resection can be performed after the malignant tumor shrinks. If the patient cannot undergo surgery, but the liver function is normal and there is no severe cirrhosis, such people can be treated with Chinese medicine during radiotherapy. If the malignant tumor is larger than 10 cm, interventional treatment is performed first, and after the tumor shrinks, radiotherapy is combined with Chinese medicine.

Stage 5, Advanced Liver Cancer

In the late stage of liver cancer, patients may suffer from ascites, jaundice, and metastasis and spread of cancer cells. If accompanied by ascites, Western medicine or Chinese medicine diuretics should be used as auxiliary treatment. After the ascites subsides, continue treatment according to the condition of the tumor. If cancer cells rupture and bleed, stop bleeding in time, and then use abdominal pressure.

Kind tips

Liver cancer is very dangerous, so you must do a good job of prevention, get the hepatitis B vaccine under the guidance of a doctor, do not share toothbrushes and razors with others, maintain personal hygiene, go to the hospital for regular check-ups, and try not to eat moldy food.
