Lung tumors are divided into benign and malignant. Benign lung tumors can be cured after surgical resection. For malignant lung tumors, lung cancer is the most common. According to the latest eighth edition of the TNM staging system for lung cancer, early lung cancer refers to stage 0 and stage I. That is, Tis (lung carcinoma in situ), stage IA (T1N0M0), and stage IB (T2aN0M0). T1 is subdivided into T1a, T1b, and T1c. As long as it is limited to the bronchial wall, even if it accumulates in the main bronchus, it is T1a. Bronchial involvement is less than 2cm from the carina, does not invade the carina, and is accompanied by atelectasis/pneumonia, which is T2, 3cm&T2a&4cm. For any tumor, the earlier the stage, the higher the cure rate. The cure rate of carcinoma in situ after surgery is 100% or close to 100%. The 5-year survival rate after treatment of stage I non-small cell lung cancer is 80-90%. Small cell lung cancer is a systemic disease, and limited-stage small cell lung cancer can be cured through chemotherapy and radiotherapy, with a cure probability of 20-40%. In terms of treatment, carcinoma in situ can be treated with surgery alone. Currently, routine postoperative adjuvant therapy, radiotherapy, and targeted drug therapy are not recommended for patients with stage IA and IB non-small cell lung cancer who have undergone complete surgical resection. However, stage IB patients with high-risk factors (such as poor differentiation, close resection margins, vascular cancer thrombus, etc.) can consider choosing adjuvant chemotherapy. Early stage lung cancer generally has a good prognosis. In addition to clinical treatment, the patient's own factors after treatment are also very important for disease recovery, such as living habits and mentality. Quitting smoking should be the first priority. In addition to quitting smoking, you also need to stay away from secondhand smoke, quit drinking, don't stay up late, exercise properly, improve your lung capacity, maintain a positive and optimistic attitude, and don't treat yourself as a patient. Go to the hospital for regular follow-up and seek medical treatment in time if there is any problem. It can be seen that early detection of tumors is very important and directly affects survival time and quality of life. Therefore, for people over 40 years old, especially those who smoke, work with chemical raw materials, radioactive substances or dust, it is necessary to have a low-dose spiral CT examination of the lungs every 1-2 years. If tumors are discovered in time and actively intervened, most early lung tumors will be no different from normal people after treatment. |
