What is hepatitis?

Hepatitis E generally refers to viral hepatitis E, abbreviated as hepatitis E, also known as enterically transmitted non-A, non-B hepatitis. The pathogen that causes hepatitis E is a single-stranded, non-enveloped RNA virus. In the past it belonged to the Caliciviridae family, but now it belongs to the Hepaciviridae family, and it is the only virus in this family that infects humans. Since pigs, monkeys, deer, mice and sheep can also be infected by it, it is generally considered an animal disease. It was first discovered in India in 1980. Hepatitis E is the second most common viral hepatitis in North Africa and the East, and is particularly prevalent in Sudan and Iraq.

How to prevent liver disease

1. Improve personal hygiene standards and carry out extensive health education on the concept of disease entering the body through the mouth. Wash hands and dishes with running water, bring your own tableware when dining at work, and develop a good habit of washing hands before and after meals.

2. Strengthen water source protection and strictly prevent drinking water from being contaminated by feces. We must strengthen the sanitary supervision of raw aquatic products. Strengthen sanitary protection of water areas in production areas to prevent pollution from feces and domestic sewage. As much as possible, you should avoid eating water, fresh fruits, vegetables and shellfish that may have been contaminated, and ensure good environmental hygiene and harmless disposal of feces.

3. Childcare institutions should establish a practical hygiene system and strictly implement a disinfection system for tableware and toilets. Children are given one towel and one cup per person. Full-time care units should also pay attention to diaper disinfection. Toys used by each team should be strictly separated and disinfected accordingly.

4. The food, toilets, clothes, bed sheets, injection needles and excrement of hepatitis A patients should also be disinfected. Disinfection methods should be based on different disinfection objects and use boiling, formalin, strong glutaraldehyde, effective chlorine and ultraviolet rays to inactivate viruses.
