The difference between acne and closed comedones

In daily life, many women use a lot of skin care products to maintain their skin, the purpose is to prevent closed comedones, acne and blackheads. Closed comedones, pimples and blackheads are all common skin diseases in life. The main causes are irregular lifestyle, greasy diet and endocrine disorders. Although they are common, many people are not clear about the difference between them. So, what is the difference between acne and closed comedones?

The difference between acne and closed comedones

1. If people carefully observe the red pimples on their faces, if they are relatively large in size and red in color, and even some white liquid may overflow from the top, then this is acne, and it is a relatively mature acne.

2. In fact, the impact of closed comedones on appearance is not as great as acne, because closed comedones are relatively small in shape, roughly the size of sesame seeds. Moreover, the color of closed comedones is usually white, and it is difficult to see them if you don’t look carefully.

3. Both blackheads and pimples refer to acne. Acne occurs on the face, chest, back and shoulders, often in a symmetrical distribution, with enlarged pores and sebum secretion. There are many types of acne, including comedones at the hair follicles, inflammatory papules, pustules, nodules, abscesses and scars. At the beginning, acne may manifest as conical papules consistent with hair follicles, which are divided into two types at this time. The first is whitehead comedones, also known as closed comedones clinically, which are commonly known as closed comedones; the second is blackhead comedones, also known as open comedones clinically. Whiteheads actually contain yellow sebum plugs, while the plugs in blackheads are oxidized, so they appear black.
