What happens if you wear expired contact lenses

What happens if you wear expired contact lenses

We know that some girls choose to wear contact lenses for the sake of their appearance. Compared with framed glasses, contact lenses may cause less change to the eyes and can make their appearance more complete. However, we all know that contact lenses have a shelf life. If the shelf life is exceeded, we must discard them to avoid damage to the eyes. So, what happens to expired contact lenses?

1. You can put on makeup while wearing contact lenses, but you must pay attention to the order: put them on first, then put on makeup. Remove first, then remove makeup. Ladies who need to wear makeup should wear contact lenses before putting on makeup and remove contact lenses before removing makeup to prevent makeup from sticking to the lenses.

2. It is fine to wear it while taking a shower, but you need to be careful when washing your hair or face to avoid letting the detergent get into your eyes.

3. When it is windy and dusty in spring, try to wear ordinary frame glasses. On the one hand, the glasses can protect you by blocking sand and dust from entering your eyes. On the other hand, once sand and dust particles enter your eyes, the tears secreted by the lacrimal glands can wash away the particles in time.

4. If you feel irritation, please remove the lenses and check again for dust or lint, then rinse them with contact lens care solution before wearing them again.

5. Please do not open both lids at the same time to avoid swapping the lids and mixing up lenses of different degrees.

6. When wearing astigmatism lenses, please adjust the angle indicators at both ends of the lens and attach the lens to the cornea in a horizontal direction.

7. Keep the fingers that wear glasses dry. If there is too much moisture on the fingertips of the fingers that wear glasses, the lenses will easily stick to the fingers when wearing glasses, making it difficult to put them into the eyes.

8. Operate and take off the lenses on a clean and flat table to avoid dropping them on the ground.

9. If the lens fails to enter your eye while you are wearing it, do not rush to wear it again. Instead, rinse the lens thoroughly before wearing it again.

10. Cut your nails short and wash your hands thoroughly before putting on or handling lenses.

11. Before wearing lenses each time, carefully check whether the lenses are damaged, dirty or have sediment. If it is damaged, it cannot be worn. If there are stains and sediment, they must be cleaned and rinsed before wearing.

12. Do not use any eye drops when wearing contact lenses, otherwise the ingredients of the medicine will be adsorbed on the lens, not only making the lens cloudy and hard, but the high concentration of medicine components retained in the lens will damage the eye tissue.
