How does TCM view the etiology of lung cancer? TCM syndrome differentiation interprets the pathogenic factors of lung cancer

Lung cancer is a type of cancer with a relatively high incidence rate. Many people are at a loss after contracting lung cancer and do not know why they contracted lung cancer. Western medicine's understanding of the cause of lung cancer is different from that of traditional Chinese medicine. The following is a detailed introduction to how traditional Chinese medicine views the cause of lung cancer.

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that the occurrence of lung cancer is mainly due to deficiency of qi and blood in the internal organs, external invasion or internal generation of evil toxins.

One of the common symptoms of lung cancer is "phlegm accumulation". Whether it is internal deficiency of vital energy, visceral disorders, or external pathogens invading the lungs, or excessive cold and heat, they all go through the pathological process of lung qi stagnation and accumulation into phlegm; and the formation of phlegm is related to lung and spleen qi deficiency and yin and yang disharmony; therefore, vital energy deficiency is the pathological basis of lung cancer. The treatment of lung cancer emphasizes syndrome differentiation and treatment, believing that lung and spleen qi deficiency runs through the entire pathogenesis of lung cancer. In the late stage of lung cancer, most of them are deficiency of both qi and yin. When treating, it is advocated to focus on replenishing the qi of the lungs and spleen, adjusting the balance of qi, blood, yin and yang, and removing pathogens as a supplement.

Other scholars believe that TCM's understanding of the cause of lung cancer is to view tumor formation from a holistic perspective, and that lung cancer is not an isolated disease confined to the lungs, but a local manifestation of a systemic disease caused by a series of pathological evolutions.

Therefore, the main reason for the onset of lung cancer is that it is due to the deficiency of vital energy, imbalance of yin and yang, which causes organ dysfunction and reduces the body's resistance. The six evils take advantage of the weakness to enter the body. Once they invade the lungs, the evils stagnate in the chest, the lung qi is depressed, the function of ascending and descending is impaired, qi stagnation and blood stasis occur, and the body fluids are not distributed, gathering to form phlegm, which condenses and forms a tumor over time. It can be seen that tumor is a disease caused by deficiency, which leads to excess due to deficiency; it is a disease that is deficiency in the whole body and excess in the local part.

The above explains in detail how Chinese medicine views the causes of lung cancer. You should all know the causative factors of lung cancer. Many factors in life may induce lung cancer, so understanding the causes of lung cancer is very important for preventing the occurrence of the disease. I hope everyone can stay away from lung cancer.
