What should be paid attention to in liver cancer care? Five points should be paid attention to in liver cancer care

Liver cancer refers to malignant tumors that occur in the liver, including primary liver cancer and metastatic liver cancer. When people talk about liver cancer, they are mostly referring to primary liver cancer. During the New Year's Day holiday, liver cancer patients should pay attention to protecting themselves in their daily diet and when going out to avoid worsening of their condition.

First, don’t forget to take your medicine on time and pay attention to regular check-ups.

Liver disease patients need to keep a calm mind towards the coming of New Year's Day, and must not disrupt their diagnosis and treatment plans or interfere with the ongoing diagnosis and treatment work because of the New Year. Most liver diseases are chronic diseases, and their diagnosis and treatment are persistent. There are clear diagnosis and treatment plans throughout the year. The implementation of these plans requires patience, meticulousness, and perseverance. Do not disrupt the diagnosis and treatment plans because of the coming of the Spring Festival.

Patients receiving antiviral treatment for hepatitis B should pay special attention to the fact that antiviral treatment is a long and arduous task and cannot be stopped arbitrarily, even for a day. For patients with more serious liver diseases, infusion and injection are inevitable. During the Spring Festival, infusion and injection should be given when necessary, without any discount. If you feel unwell, you must go to a regular hospital for examination.

2. Resolutely prohibit drinking and refuse overeating

During the holidays, patients with liver disease must avoid "alcohol". Liquor and beer are both taboos. The main component of alcohol is ethanol, which can be converted into acetaldehyde in the liver, which will directly damage liver cells and even cause liver cell degeneration or necrosis, leading to further deterioration of the condition. Liver disease patients already have liver lesions. If they drink alcohol, it can be said to be adding insult to injury, which can accelerate the evolution of the disease to cirrhosis or even liver cancer. At the same time, it is not advisable to eat too much greasy food, and do not eat raw and cold stewed dishes, so as not to cause intestinal infection and aggravate damage to the liver. For the diet of chronic hepatitis patients, it is advisable to eat high-protein and high-vitamin foods, and carbohydrate intake should be moderate, not too much.

For patients with acute and active hepatitis, especially those in the jaundice stage, most of them have poor appetite and dislike greasy food. At this time, the diet should be light and maintain sufficient calories, but attention should be paid to proper protein supplementation, such as milk, eggs, lean meat, fish, tofu, mushrooms, etc. For patients with cirrhosis, attention should be paid to eating soft, less residue, and easily digestible food, such as longxu noodles, rice porridge, minced meat, etc., and eat more fresh vegetables and fruits.

3. Avoid excessive fatigue, proper rest is important.

Many patients with liver diseases often experience relapses, elevated transaminase levels, and even jaundice after the New Year. The main reasons are that during the Spring Festival, relatives and friends gather together and are overwhelmed by the comings and goings, or they are very tired from visiting relatives and friends; or relatives and friends invite them to play cards and games, or they are too active; or they are tired from watching the rich TV programs during the Spring Festival; or they catch a cold, which makes the condition worse.

Therefore, patients with liver disease should pay attention to their own conditions at all times, so as not to feel tired, not to overwork, and not to play mahjong, poker, or crazy dancing all night long. During the festival, there are wonderful TV programs, but the watching time should not be too long, no more than 4 hours a day. When watching, try to choose light comedy, musical and opera films, and watch less martial arts and detective films with tense and exciting plots, thrilling and bloody scenes.

For patients with liver disease, it is important to adjust their emotions, be open-minded and optimistic, and especially maintain their usual pace of life, adhere to normal physical exercise and usual treatment. If the original rhythm of life is disrupted, exercise is stopped, and the current medication is discontinued without authorization, it can easily lead to recurrence of the disease.

4. Pay attention to food hygiene.

Many infectious diseases, such as dysentery, hepatitis A, and hepatitis E, are transmitted through food and fecal-oral routes. During the New Year's Day, restaurants are booming and overcrowded, and food and catering safety faces challenges. If food hygiene and kitchenware disinfection are not strictly controlled, and cooking is perfunctory, it is very likely to cause food safety incidents that endanger human health. Incidents such as the golden apple snail are still frightening. If unclean seafood is consumed, it may cause acute hepatitis A and bacterial diarrhea; if unclean meat products, unclean vegetables, and unclean drinking water are consumed, it may also cause hepatitis E and cholera.

5. Keep warm and avoid catching a cold.

Chronic liver disease patients have low immune function and are very susceptible to infection by various pathogenic factors during or after the disease. During the New Year's Day period, the weather is uneven, and it is also the season when respiratory diseases such as influenza are prevalent. Once influenza occurs, liver disease patients have low immune function and are prone to colds, bronchitis, pneumonia, urinary tract infections, etc., which aggravate the original liver disease and cause liver function fluctuations. Therefore, during the New Year's Day period, liver disease patients should try to avoid crowded public places. The room should be ventilated frequently to keep the air fresh. It is best to have sufficient sunlight to keep the air in a good circulation state; the room should maintain a suitable temperature and humidity so that the patient can rest at ease.
