What symptoms will appear after lung cancer? 5 symptoms of lung cancer. Early detection and early treatment

Coughing up blood and bloody sputum. Coughing up blood is also one of the first symptoms of lung cancer. Although its incidence is lower than coughing, its diagnostic significance is more serious than coughing. It is characterized by intermittent and repeated small amounts of bloody sputum, often with more blood than sputum, brighter color, and sometimes persistent and difficult to control.

The reason why we should pay attention to the symptoms of lung cancer is that lung diseases are prone to coughing, and lung cancer patients generally have lung inflammation. If the patient himself and others cannot discover the characteristics of lung cancer, it is easy for his friends and relatives to be infected with lung cancer, or for the patient's lung cancer condition to become more serious.

What are the symptoms of lung cancer?

1. Coughing up blood and bloody sputum: Coughing up blood is also one of the first symptoms of lung cancer. Although its incidence is lower than coughing, its diagnostic significance is more serious than coughing. It is characterized by intermittent and repeated small amounts of bloody sputum, often with more blood than sputum, brighter color, and sometimes continuous and difficult to control. When cancer erodes blood vessels, it can cause severe coughing up blood. Bloody sputum often comes from the tumor area, mixed with a large number of cancer cells, and the detection rate of sputum cells and blood is very high;

2 Fever: There are two types of fever caused by lung cancer. One is inflammatory fever caused by bronchial obstruction or bronchial wall compression, and the other is the so-called "cancer fever". It is a cancer fever caused by toxins produced by tumor necrosis, which often appears in the later stage after extensive metastasis;

3. Chest pain: When the tumor is located near the pleura, it is easy to produce irregular dull pain. When the ribs and spine are invaded, there may also be persistent chest pain and fixed-point tenderness. If the tumor compresses the intercostal nerves, the chest pain is located in the area where the nerves run. If the mediastinal lymph nodes are affected, deep pain behind the sternum may occur, and if the tumor is close to the diaphragm, pain in the pit of the stomach may occur. Usually, chest pain occurs earlier in patients with undifferentiated cancer, and later in patients with squamous cell carcinoma. This is due to the early metastasis of mediastinal lymph nodes in undifferentiated cancer.

4. Chest tightness and shortness of breath: Shortness of breath is caused by bronchial stenosis and obstruction, and metastasis is seen in central lung cancer. Diffuse bronchiolar-alveolar cell carcinoma reduces the respiratory area and affects the diffusion function, causing progressive worsening of shortness of breath. Carcinoma complicated by pleural effusion, carcinomatous lymphangitis, and diaphragmatic paralysis caused by tumor compression of the phrenic nerve can also cause shortness of breath. Advanced lung cancer causes shortness of breath and even suffocation due to widespread lesions or metastatic lymph node compression of the trachea and carina.

5. Cough: This is the most common early symptom. Tumors stimulate the bronchial mucosa and cause dry coughs with no sputum or a small amount of white foamy mucus sputum. Tumor enlargement causes bronchial stenosis, which worsens the cough and is often persistent, with a high-pitched metallic sound, a characteristic obstructive cough. When there is secondary lung infection at the distal end of the bronchial wall stenosis, the amount of sputum increases and becomes thick mucous sputum.
