If you have 3 symptoms, you should check for liver cancer. Liver cancer is most likely to affect 6 types of people

Liver cancer is a very "vicious and insidious" malignant tumor. Its danger lies in that it is difficult to detect in the early stage. Once diagnosed, it is mostly in the late stage, and the course of the disease progresses rapidly. Therefore, it is called the "king of cancer". All patients who are middle-aged or older and have a long history of liver disease, such as those with unexplained liver pain, weight loss, and fluctuating transaminase elevation, should have a B-ultrasound and a serum alpha-fetoprotein test every 6 months.

Three symptoms to rule out liver cancer:

1. Pain in the liver area. More than half of the patients have this as the first symptom, which is mostly persistent dull pain, stabbing pain or distending pain.

2. Systemic and digestive tract symptoms. In the early stage, it is often difficult to attract attention, and the main symptoms are fatigue, weight loss, loss of appetite, abdominal distension, etc. Some patients may also have symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, fever, diarrhea, etc. In the late stage, anemia, jaundice, ascites, lower limb edema, subcutaneous hemorrhage and cachexia may appear.

3. Hepatomegaly. This is the most common sign of mid- to late-stage liver cancer. In many cases, hepatomegaly or a mass in the liver is accidentally felt by the patient and becomes the first symptom of liver cancer.

Liver cancer is most likely to affect 6 types of people

Liver cancer is particularly prone to "family members". If a blood relative is sick, it is best to be vigilant and get checked regularly.

Experts warn that people with a history of hepatitis B, a family history of liver cancer, who drink alcohol, and who like to eat pickled foods in daily life are all susceptible to liver cancer. It is best for such people to undergo an ultrasound examination every six months to detect the disease in time.

"Particularly worth mentioning are patients with a family history, because liver cancer seems to particularly favor 'family members', which may be due to the genetic susceptibility of the disease itself." The expert said that he has recently encountered the same family members who have been diagnosed with cancer one after another, and even encountered a situation where two brothers were on the operating table for liver cancer surgery at the same time.

"The occurrence of tumors is caused by external factors acting through internal factors. The same genes, coupled with similar lifestyle habits, make many types of tumors, including liver cancer, prefer to favor the same family members who are blood-related."

Prevention of liver cancer:

1. Prevent hepatitis: Using hepatitis vaccines to prevent hepatitis and thus liver cancer has become one of the most promising ways to prevent liver cancer, but it is estimated that it will take decades to see results. It has been proven that hepatitis B vaccines are effective in preventing hepatitis. However, from a comprehensive perspective, prevention of HCV and HDV still needs to be considered. In addition to injecting hepatitis B vaccines, prevention of viral hepatitis also requires attention to the control of other transmission routes, such as diet, surgery, blood transfusion, injection, acupuncture and hairdressing.

2. Grain mold prevention: Mainly for corn and peanuts that are easily contaminated by AFB1. Moisture-proof storage is carried out during grain harvesting, threshing, transportation, drying, storage, etc. Grain that has been obviously moldy cannot be eaten; grain that is extremely mildly moldy is carefully selected, cleaned, and treated with drugs. In high-incidence areas, it is recommended to change the dietary structure and reduce the proportion of corn in the staple food.

3. Improve drinking water: In rural areas with high incidence, adopt a variety of measures in conjunction with the patriotic health campaign to improve the drinking water environment. Change from drinking ditch and pond water to drinking well water, deep well water, and rainwater, or build small water plants. Cities should use unpolluted water sources as the source of tap water and prevent environmental pollution.

4. Appropriate selenium supplementation: For people with low selenium level, use selenium-rich yeast, selenium polysaccharides, and selenium-rich salts to supplement selenium and increase blood selenium levels.
