What are the surgical treatments for lung cancer? Check out 5 surgical treatments for lung cancer

In people's lives, when we hear the word lung cancer, I believe our first reaction is surgery. But when it comes to what kind of surgery it is, I believe most people can't tell you one, two, three. After all, people think that various cancers are quite far away from them, so they don't know what surgical treatments there are for lung cancer?

1. Sleeve lobectomy: Sleeve lobectomy is a very common surgical treatment for lung cancer. Sleeve lobectomy is mostly suitable for patients whose tumors are located in the lobar bronchus and involve the lobar bronchial opening.

2. Lobectomy: The second most common surgical treatment for lung cancer is the removal of a lung lobe. Lobectomy is recommended for isolated peripheral lung cancer that is confined to one lobe without obvious lymph node enlargement. If the tumor involves two lobes or the middle bronchus, upper middle lobe or lower middle lobe lung resection may be performed.

3. Carina resection and reconstruction:

When the tumor exceeds the main bronchus and involves the carina or tracheal side wall but does not exceed 2 cm, carina resection and reconstruction or sleeve pneumonectomy can be performed, and efforts should be made to preserve one lobe of the lung during surgery.

4. Local excision:

Local resection is suitable for patients with very small primary cancers, elderly and frail patients with poor lung function, or patients with well-differentiated cancers and low malignancy, and can be performed by wedge-shaped cancer block resection and lung segment resection.

5. Immunotherapy:

For patients who cannot undergo surgery immediately, chemotherapy and biological immunotherapy can be used to shrink the tumor, achieve the purpose of lowering the stage, and then seize the opportunity for radical resection. Alternatively, radiotherapy can be used as the main treatment, with biological immunotherapy as an auxiliary treatment, and the effect is significant.

The above contents are some types of surgical treatments for lung cancer summarized by medical experts through their years of treatment experience. If a patient finds that he or she has lung cancer, he or she must treat it with a positive attitude. If he or she can cure his or her disease well, then many difficult surgeries can be overcome.
