What should women do if they have cervical cancer? Is screening the key to preventing cervical cancer?

March 8 is a festival to take care of women, and March is a month to take care of women. Female friends should know how to love themselves and make themselves healthier. Cervicitis is a common gynecological disease in women of childbearing age and one of the causes of female infertility. Cervical cancer ranks second in the incidence of female malignant tumors in my country. Stars such as Anita Mui and Li Yuanyuan died of cervical cancer. The prevention and control of cervical diseases has become an important health issue for female friends. For this reason, Xiaobian specially invited Deng Minduan, an expert of the Online Medical Committee of Guangzhou Red Cross Hospital and deputy director of the Department of Women and Children, to answer various confusions of female friends about cervical diseases.

You may also suffer from cervicitis even if you don't have sex

Many patients also raised questions such as: they don't have sex, why do they have cervicitis? Director Deng said that there are many causes of cervicitis, unclean sex is the most common cause, gonococci, chlamydia and many other pathogens or bacteria are transmitted through sexual contact, if the sexual partner has these pathogens or bacteria, women may be infected and suffer from acute cervicitis; but unclean sex is not the only cause of cervicitis, some people rarely have sex, or use condoms, but may still suffer from cervicitis due to external environment and other reasons. This is because the cervix is connected to the outside world through the vagina, and external bacteria can affect the cervix through this channel and cause inflammation, but this situation is relatively rare, infection is pathogens and bacteria, unclean sanitary napkins, sanitary napkins, toilet paper, and even undried underwear may be the source of infection of cervicitis! In addition, natural or artificial abortion, childbirth, surgical injuries, etc. may make the cervical epidermis incomplete or traumatic, which is more likely to cause cervical epidermis damage.

Women cannot ignore the "traces" of cervicitis

Director Deng recommends that women of childbearing age undergo formal physical examinations every year to detect gynecological problems such as cervicitis as soon as possible. In daily life, do not ignore the "clues" left by cervicitis. Director Deng introduced that there are two types of cervicitis, acute and chronic, and chronic cervicitis is common in clinical practice. The symptoms of acute cervicitis are mainly purulent, vulvar itching, sexual bleeding, low back pain, lower abdominal swelling, etc.; The symptoms of chronic cervicitis may not be obvious, and patients may find that the secretions increase and are yellower than usual. When the above symptoms of cervicitis are found, female friends should go to the hospital for further examination as soon as possible. In the diagnosis of cervicitis, doctors usually arrange gynecological examinations, leucorrhea examinations, and special bacterial smears, such as chlamydia and gonococcal examinations.

Non-HpV cervicitis will not develop into cervical cancer

There is only one word difference between cervicitis and cervical cancer. Many patients with cervicitis have consulted experts online through Xiaobian with such questions: Will cervicitis develop into cervical cancer? Director Deng introduced that the occurrence of cervical cancer is related to persistent infection with a specific virus - human papillomavirus (HpV). HpV infection causes changes in the cervical epithelium, which is medically called precancerous lesions. If not treated, it may develop into cervical cancer, which takes an average of 8-10 years. Cervicitis caused by HPV infection, such as chlamydia and gonococci, will not develop into cervical cancer. People with premature sexual activity, multiple sexual partners, multiple miscarriages or childbirth histories, sexually transmitted diseases, etc. are more likely to be infected with HPV. It is recommended to perform regular cervical cancer screening, including: TCT (liquid-based thin layer cell test), high-risk human papillomavirus (HR-HpV-DNA) test (referred to as HPV test), colposcopy, etc.

Cervical cancer vaccine cannot prevent 100% of cases

At present, cervical cancer can be effectively prevented by vaccination. Since the cervical cancer vaccine has not yet been launched in the mainland, many female friends have been specially vaccinated in Hong Kong, Macau and other places. Some netizens also shared her process of vaccination in Macau in the Gynecology Circle, an online gynecological patient forum of the editor. Some female friends believe that vaccination with cervical cancer vaccine can prevent cervical cancer 100%. Director Deng pointed out that in fact, the cervical cancer vaccine mainly targets the two most common vaccine HpV viruses: HpV16 and HpV18. For other types of cervical cancer, the protection of cervical cancer caused by HpV virus infection is very weak. After vaccination, the chance of cervical cancer can only be reduced, and the prevention rate of cervical cancer cannot be 100%. Director Deng recommends that people at high risk of cervical cancer do TCT once a year. If you choose to check and find traces of cervical cancer as soon as possible, both TCT examination and HpV are done, and the examination results are normal, you can check once every three years.
