Three adverse symptoms of cervical cancer should be cautious

1. Pain is one of the most common symptoms

As tumor cells extend, invade the pelvic wall, and compress peripheral nerves, patients with advanced cervical cancer will experience persistent pain in the sciatic nerve or sacroiliac nerve. Tumors compress or erode the ureters, causing narrowing and obstruction of the ureters, leading to hydronephrosis. Advanced cervical cancer causes low back pain or even severe pain, which can further develop into renal failure, leading to more serious symptoms such as uremia.

Increased vaginal discharge

It mainly occurs before vaginal bleeding. The late symptoms of cervical cancer are that the vaginal discharge will not have any odor at first. As the cancer grows, secondary infection and necrosis of the cancer will increase the amount of discharge, such as rice water or mixed blood, and have a foul odor. When the tumor spreads upward and accumulates in the endometrium, the vaginal discharge is blocked by the cervical cancer tissue and cannot be discharged, which may form uterine effusion or uterine pyometra, and the patient may experience symptoms such as lower abdominal discomfort, lower abdominal pain, back pain, and fever.

3. Advanced cervical cancer will have metastatic symptoms

Experts say that generally speaking, cancer spreads forward and invades the bladder. Patients with advanced cervical cancer often experience frequent urination, urgency, pain, falling, and hematuria, which are often misdiagnosed as urinary tract infections, delaying diagnosis. Bladder-vaginal fistulas can form serious fistulas. Cancer spreads backward and invades the rectum, with symptoms of advanced cervical cancer, such as falling, difficulty defecating, urgency, and severe blood in the stool. Vaginorectal fistulas can develop further.
