The effect of head acupuncture

Acupuncture in traditional Chinese medicine is the method chosen by many people to treat certain diseases. Acupuncture can be used on any part of the body. Acupuncture on the head is effective in many aspects, such as headaches. Chronic headaches are a relatively stubborn disease that can be effectively improved through acupuncture. In addition, acupuncture can also treat a variety of diseases, such as cervical pain and dysmenorrhea in women.

Acupuncture is effective in treating primary headaches

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that pathological changes in the circulation of qi and blood in the internal organs and meridians due to various reasons, such as poor circulation of qi and blood, stagnation, disorder, or abnormal rise and fall of qi, will cause pain, which is the pathogenesis of "pain due to obstruction". Acupuncture treatment can dredge meridians, promote qi and blood circulation by stimulating and warming acupoints, thereby improving the circulation of qi and blood in the affected area, thereby improving the nutritional status of the affected area and restoring its normal physiological activities, that is, the meridians are unobstructed and the internal organs restore the relative yin and yang balance.

Acupuncture can treat many chronic pains, such as headaches, cervical pain, frozen shoulder, dysmenorrhea, shingles, low back pain, knee and ankle pain, etc.

Strictly speaking, headache is not a specific disease, but just a symptom. Many diseases can cause headaches, including colds and fevers, brain tumors, and even when nothing is wrong. Experts say: "Acupuncture is most effective in treating primary headaches."

The so-called primary headache refers to a spontaneous headache that occurs without any other disease in the human body. There are many meridians running through the head. Pathologies of different meridians will manifest as pain in different parts of the head. Acupuncture for treating headaches uses the method of meridian differentiation. The different meridians to which the headache area belongs are used to differentiate and select acupoints. For example, headache on both sides is called Shaoyang headache, and pain on the top of the head is called Jueyin headache. Domestic and foreign research has shown that acupuncture is more effective in relieving pain than medication.

Acupuncture can reduce the frequency of headache attacks, experts said. There was once a young female patient who had primary migraine and the pain was worse during menstruation. After a period of acupuncture treatment, the headache disappeared and rarely recurred.
