How is liver cancer staged?

According to the size of liver cancer tumor, whether there is lymph node metastasis, whether there is distant metastasis, liver cancer is clinically divided into four stages, namely very early stage, early stage, advanced stage and terminal late stage. The prognosis is better in early and early active treatment.

1. Very early stage of liver cancer

The very early stage is the early stage of liver cancer. At this time, the tumor is small, there are no obvious clinical symptoms, no lymph node metastasis and no distant metastasis. If surgical resection is chosen in time, the prognosis is good.

2. Early stage of liver cancer

The further development of liver cancer will develop from very early to early stage. At this time, liver pain, jaundice, aversion to greasy food, nausea and vomiting and other uncomfortable symptoms may occur. The possibility of lymph node metastasis and distant metastasis is small, and surgical treatment has a good prognosis.

3. Advanced liver cancer

At this time, the tumor will grow larger, and there will be obvious discomfort symptoms such as pain in the liver area and abdominal mass, and lymph node metastasis may occur. Postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy is also needed to achieve good results.

4. Terminal stage of liver cancer

This is the most serious stage of liver cancer. There is distant metastasis and it cannot be treated surgically. Only palliative therapy can be used to improve the quality of life and prolong survival.
