What are the symptoms of primary liver cancer? These four points need attention

As we all know, the liver is an important organ of the human body. It is responsible for many functions of the human body and is an important detoxification organ of the human body. However, it is also very vulnerable to damage and is prone to lesions. Long-term hepatitis will develop into cirrhosis and then into primary liver cancer, a malignant disease. So, what is primary liver cancer? Let's learn about it together.

Liver cancer is a malignant tumor of the liver, which can be divided into primary liver cancer and metastatic liver cancer. Primary liver cancer refers to a malignant tumor that grows in the liver (not including outside the liver) and originates from liver cells and bile duct cells. In other words, it is "rooted in the liver" and is not a malignant tumor that "migrated" from other parts of the body to the liver. Symptoms of primary liver cancer:
1. Pain in the liver area: mostly distending pain, persistent dull pain. When the pain occurs, not only the primary site but also the adjacent sites will be painful. When the tumor ruptures, acute abdomen symptoms will appear, and intra-abdominal bleeding will occur at the same time.
2. Systemic and digestive tract symptoms: fatigue, anorexia, abdominal distension, weight loss, etc. Some patients may also experience nausea, vomiting, low fever, abdominal pain and diarrhea. Advanced patients may also experience severe symptoms such as edema of the limbs, subcutaneous hemorrhage, and anemia.
3. Hepatomegaly: B-ultrasound shows irregular edges but hard texture, and the surface is in the shape of large and small nodules.
4. Symptoms of liver cancer metastasis: lung metastasis may cause coughing symptoms; brain metastasis may cause dizziness and headache symptoms. Other patients may have symptoms such as gastrointestinal bleeding, tumor rupture and bleeding.
There are many treatments for primary liver cancer. Surgery is the first choice and the most effective method for treating liver cancer. With the advancement of early diagnosis and treatment of primary liver cancer and liver surgery techniques, the overall efficacy has improved. However, even if liver cancer is radically resected, 60% to 70% of patients will still have metastasis and recurrence within 5 years. AFP testing and ultrasound examinations should be used for regular observation after surgery to detect the recurrence and metastasis of liver cancer as early as possible.
